Looking for Build Gurus

I think you can add slots to the vet sprint powers. I'm just not sure why you would.

Mids Hero planner is usually very good at staying up to date with what is live in the game. I think it took them a bit longer to get incarnates implemented, but they're in Mids now.

You can also use the Titan Sentinel to export your current live build to Mids so you can see what you currently have going on.

Both current versions can be found at www.cohtitan.com.

As for Mids being "crap"? That's certainly untrue. Maybe it's just not your "cup of tea" and you might find it frustrating, but crap? Not buying that.

I need to think about this. I tried to find a quicker way to do this. Sadly, I think I'll have to sit down with a calculator, IO printouts, and my computer.

This is a personal decision. We don't get enough slots to use/fill out all of the powers so I'm trying to find a way to fill out all of my powers(accuracy, damage, recharge, holds, range, etc.)...but there are trade offs.

To answer the other question, my version is 1.942

Yeah, I had a feeling it was just a matter of "doing it wrong" (based on the player's history) and that right there (he's using the most up to date Mids) confirms it. I have no idea what to suggest. I think what he needs is video walkthroughs and one-on-one time with someone standing over his shoulder, but that's never going to happen.

Of COURSE we have trade-offs. If we could maximize every part of a power in four slots, what point would they have at all?

Do you need to sit down with a ton of spreadsheets and paper to optimize a character? No. Use Mid's, and post on the forums for suggestions. It's really not that hard (certainly not as hard as you are suggesting). Mid's will tell you everything you need to know if you know where to look. About the only thing it won't tell you is what your best DPS chain is, and even that shouldn't be too hard to figure out based on all of the other numbers it tells you.

I guess we just don't understand what is so hard about using Mid's and the forums to get help? We're not going to just hand you builds and expect them to work perfectly for you.

I don't use Mids either. I learned how to use Set IOs, etc. with pencil, paper and calculator too. Of course, I do have several years practice building and rebuilding over 2 dozen characters, so I'm not starting from scratch.

While I may not achieve the most optimized, min-maxed builds, the builds I do come up with are affordable and available (ie purchasable from the Markets). My builds conform to my personal minimum requirements, depending on compromises taken, and I do realize that they have room for improvement, but then that gives me something to do later on. And it gives me a reason to read threads on build advice to discover something that wouldn't have occurred to me to try.

Use a spreadsheet. I started using Excel for my builds before I knew Mids existed. I use Excel every day anyway, so I stuck with it. All my builds are in Excel.
