A bubbler's place in a BAF?
Disclaimer: I usually do this on an Earth/FF as opposed to a defender, so I have a few different tools at my disposal, BUT I tend to end up about halfway between the door and the path behind (looking at the south doors) with Force Bubble running. My other AOEs are in range of everything, the minions are pinned or slowed - the commandos tend to just zip right through (might be slowed a bit, usually too busy to really time them or see if it's lag or not.)

on a side note, i would say definitely whatever you do, NEVER use detention field on a commando since they will be "only affecting self" ect, but not immob'd and continue to run through the area invulnerable

There are 2 spots (one N and the other S) that I have found work the best for Force Bubble. The locations mirror the "choke point" tactic of the tower defense strategy.
I focus on the Lts (the only ones that can get through the Force Bubble), and then pick off the Minions when possible.

The Commandos (the Lts) are immune to Force Bubble. That's why you focus your fire on them as they pass.
The others (the Minions) are affected by Force Bubble. It will prevent them from continuing along their designated path. The mob's pathing AI forces them to try to run on the walkway path. They will slide around the bubble a little bit, but when they stray to the side the AI forces them back to the walkway path on the same side they came from.

I've never yet taken a hit from a bad guy skidding across the floor on his keister.
