The worst art you've seen today.
Feedback would be valued. I am well aware that my handle on anatomy is weak, and I'm planning on getting Poser or something similar to render models, then paint over.

And your art isn't the worst I've seen today, you appear to have a basic understanding of how muscle groups are laid out. While it's not 100% anatomically correct, you can get there from here.
The worst art I've seen today is reserved for some of the things I found on a site I was introduced to. Just google "what is this monstrosity oc" and you'll find it. I would link, but I believe the address would trigger the profanity filter.

*Disclaimer* I am not an art major, and no I don't even play one on TV.
Okay, I have little to add past what Johnstone has already said. Only this.
As noted, your handle on basic muscle groupings is fine. You need to work on poses a bit. Your current two drawings are somewhat hunch-shouldered (the shoulders are rolled in (slightly on the second image, moreso on the first). If you're going for "heroic" poses, they tend to have their shoulders more thrown back and the chest expanded, even when it would be somewhat bad for basic body mechanics.
Other than that you're worlds away better than I am already. My skill stops at about the level of elaborate stick figures.
Good feedback. Appreciating the advice so far.

Welcome aboard Mad! I was away from art for about 8 years myself. I was pretty rusty too but I've been back at drawing
(and teaching myself digital art in photoshop) for a year and a half now and seen lots of improvement.
You're off to a great start and it was a good choice to post your stuff here. You'll get some good feedback and encouragement plus I've
found it to be a great motivator... when I got tempted to slack during my drawing challenge it really helped to
know there were people watching and following along and waiting to see more stuff.
With that being said, post MOAR artz nao!
P.S. Before I ever read the text I could see a good
resemblance to MCD in the your first pic. Nice!
I've set my deviantArt login to show me whatever's the most recent. Trust me - I've seen much, much worse art today. Your stuff ain't bad!

Nice pictures, first of all. And I have seen a lot worse..
If you are looking for stock photos to work from (as in use them as the model instead of a real person), I do know of a resource on Deviant Art and don't let the name put you off!

It started out as an aid for Sailor Moon fans who also do art, but others use it as well, I'm sure.

Global is @Mellissandria
I don't have that much art, but I do write stories and I do collect art on
my DA account
Thank you Mellisandria for that link, it was very very helpful...
Well, it might be. I've decided to try my hand at drawing once more, after about a decade of giving up on it. Here's two pieces I'm confident enough to share.

First is a pic of my main on Virtue, Strongwall. Used Michael Clarke Duncan as a reference for the face. He's in his civvie's:
Second is more recent, but unfinished, of my wife's character Gaia Stormsoul, also a native of Virtue. She is in her SG uniform:
