Very first mission won't complete- now what do I do?

Hello everyone,

I used to play this game a few years ago, just returning, created a toon, and on my very first (real) mission, the darn thing won't complete. I saved the hostages, but....the game doesn't recognise that I did.

Now what do I do so that I can continue?

(It's hard to start as a newbie again, have pity!)

Welcome back to the game!

Which mission is it?

Does the mission goal change from "Free person x" to "Lead out person x" once you freed them?

You can auto complete a mission every 3 days. Just call/go to the contact that gave you the mission and use the "complete this misison" option.

If you have already used this option and don't wish to wait 3 more days or the misison in question does not allow for auto completion you can use the /petition command to file an in game petition and wait for a GM to come assist you with your problem.

I usually attempt to go back and reset the mission I am having trouble with one time and redo it before I give up and wait for a GM.

Hope your issues is solved quickly and I really hope you enjoy being back in the game

There a couple of missions where you have to defeat the mobs in the same area as the rescuees, or boss and a couple where you have to clear the map, even though it doesn't mention it.

What contact and which mission is it?

Oh, and welcome back to the game! ^.^

Hopefully, you've resolved the issue by now, or gotten some help. If you're still stuck in it, what server are you on? Someone would likely be more than happy to come and lend a hand.

Yes, when in doubt, clear the room with the objective (hostage, clicky glowie, thing to destroy, etc.). Then clear the whole mish.

If you're in Atlas Park, try broadcasting for help, someone in game might be able to team with you and spot the problem. Also try the server forum for your server (here on these forums), you might be able to contact someone there, and also find out what your server global channels are. Those global channels are an even better way of getting help and teams than broadcast.

You're right, the mission HAD changed, and the red "this is your target" arrow didn't. So I abandoned the mission and redid it, and was able to complete it.

It's slowly coming back to me now!
