I have a higher end Radeon vid card, and haven't upgraded the drivers in a bit, since everything is going fine.


I was just curious what the latest drivers people were using that don't have issues with the game.

no problems with the 11.5 drivers here.

I had to stay on the 11.4 drivers. 11.5 drivers introduced a weird hitching (short freeze) that cycled every few seconds for me. 11.4s are solid as a rock. Well, for an ATi driver.

Yeah, I had to roll back to 11.4 as well, same issue. /graphfps showed that every so often, a frame would take 1014-1028 ms or so (ALWAYS within a couple ms of the same number). Weirdly, there was also a spike on /netgraph that coincided with each bad frame and the "Duplicate In" count would increase.

I have an ATI on a laptop and had the same issue for a while. I managed to fix it though while keeping the 11.5 drivers by turning everything on the ATI control panel to application control and turning off catalyst AI. No more hitching.

Bigger problem, though, is that I have crashing that occurs when I'm doing trials or large group content. Not always, maybe once every 40 minutes, but it happens reliably. Not sure what's causing it, but it was happening before I updated the drivers too.

Same with the others no problems with other games. I'm gonna try doing a memory test but I don't think it's the memory...

My 5870 still has the stuttering every few seconds with the 11.5 drivers after following some suggestions here on the settings. 10.8 and 11.4 both work fine. Just another data point.

I had the same problem, also on a 5870. Rolling back to 11.4 did the trick for me as well. Very glad I can actually play again now that the steampunk pack is out!
