I know, I'm sorry. I can't help myself, I'm a paronomasiac.

On the other hand, if they live in Quarries, and there are quarries Everywhere, then there are no copyrighted trademark lizards here, right?

So I just logged into this guy for the first time in a while and remembered I saw this thread.

William, can you post a larger screenshot of the face? The helmet looks pretty nice and stylised, but I can't quite tell what it's made up of.

Also, I apologise for not posting more helmets. I kind of blew all my savings on that one original post

^ Hate the clipping on this one, but the general look was achieved to my liking.

No problem Sam, but I cant seem to get any better closeup shots. How do you get the shots from the Costume creator? Everytime I hit prnt Scrn when at the Tailor nothing happens.

Edit:

Here's a fairly decent one. Still be cool to know how to Screenshot in the Costume creator though.

If you are using Vista or Win7, look under Accessories for 'Snipping Tool'. That's what I use.

I personally use FRAPS. It's a bit of amazing software that will give you a direct FPS readout on anything you're running and it's perfect for capturing video and screenshots from practically anything. You can run it in the background of the game and I don't think it affects performance, or you can turn it on only when you need editor screenshots like I tend to do.

The free version of FRAPS can only capture 60 seconds of video at a time and always puts on the FRAPS logo on it, but it has no limitations on taking screenshots that I've been able to determine. It saves its screenshots to its FRAPS\Screenshots folder as raw bitmaps, so you still need to crop them and/or save them as jpeg files, but I find it incredibly convenient. It actually takes better screenshots than City of Heroes does, or so it looks to my eye.

I'll bite. Here's some from a few of my characters.

Nothing terribly complicated.

61866 - A Series of Unfortunate Kidnappings - More than a coincidence?
2260 - The Burning of Hearts - A green-eyed monster holds the match.
379248 - The Spider Without Fangs - NEW - Some lessons learned (more or less.)

Aha. That makes sense. I know of fraps, but I have an older laptop and don't usually run anything other than the forums when I play.

Was that screenshot better?

Well, if you're using XP, when you press PrintScreen in the Tailor or Creation window, it captures the whole screen to your Clipboard. From there, you have to open an Image manipulation/generation program, like Irfanview, or Fireworks, or Photoshop, or even Paint, and Paste the captured image in. At that point, you can do whatever you like with it, or save it as a file.

And if you're using Vista, you can use the snipping tool that Red Valkyrja said, or hit Shift+PrintScreen to do what Fireheart just said how to do with XP. I don't know why they made Shift required in Vista, but they did. It's how I get my shots from the Tailor or Character Select Screen. Just have to paste them into a blank image then. I have never actually used the snipping tool though, that might actually be easier.
