Earth/Psy, today vs years ago

I recently took my Earth/Psy dom out of mothballs from two or three years ago. Unfortunately, there appear to have been major changes to doms in general and psy assault as well. Is it still a solid combination?

I'm looking at respeccing soon, currently have these powers:
From Earth Control: Fossilize, Quicksand, Stalagmites, Earthquake, Volcanic Gasses, and Animate Stone
From Psy Assault: Psionic Dart, Mind Probe, TK Thrust, Psychic Scream, Drain Psyche, Subdue, Psionic Lance, and Psychic Shockwave (much nerfed, apparently)
Power pools: Medicine (Aid Other/Self), Speed (Hasten), Jumping (CJ, SJ, Acro)
Mace Mastery (Poison Ray, Scorpion Shield)

Character is lvl 46 currently. Any suggestions on powers to swap out or pools to pick up? Fighting is seeming like a good idea in the face of Incarnate content, but doms in general seem a dubious choice against the AV and robot-heavy endgame now.

Doms in general will always have a place in high end pve. going with a soft capped defense /perma dom build is cheap with creative slotting. especially since fitness is now inherit. having the aoe immob does wonders. Earth is the most "controllish" out of all the sets with no down time. stalagmites + stone cages on one group, earthquake + quick sand on next group, volcanic gases + stone cages on another group and back to the first combo. works great with Psy to keep them bunched up. Psy still does really well even with the Psy Shockwave nerf.

Nowadays, I see there being 2 different build routes to take with Doms.

#1 - Extreme recharge, such as enough to make hasten perma and even domination perma without hasten. This type of build is also beneficial for making drain psyche perma. This is the route I went with my mind/psi.

#2 - Enough recharge to get permadom, then shooting for softcapping s/l and maybe range defense. Much debate over the merits of this build philosophy as to whether or not the defense makes a difference. I think it does, depending on your powersets. Mind/ for instance, seems pretty good without it.

I personally enjoy option #1 as it makes all of you powers come up faster. With /psi, making DP perma and getting a resist shield like Charged Armor might be fruitful, as well.
