Tri-form WS help

Well its pretty self-explanatory. I read dech's guide but I always prefer personal opinions rather than a guide.

What should i be aiming with a tri-form build? I already know having bazillion recharge to keep hasten and eclipse perma is a must but what else?

Positional soft-cap or situational (was this correct name for S/L fire/cold etc ?) soft-cap for defense.

Should I focus on damage or try to get accuracy and let mire's handle rest?

What should be focus on for human/ nova/ dwarf forms?

My toon is almost completly IO free at the moment with at least 3 respec I have a good amount of inf and intend to get at least 3 purple set I can get 5 purple set too but it may give me a little hard time to get pvp recipes if i do so. Also I don't know which will be more effective, distributing purples among forms or keeping all of them in human?

Which incarnates would be useful on tier 3 and tier 4?

Any other advice you can give to me is very appreciated.

EDIT: Oh and forgot to ask but what are top chains for each from and how much global recharge needed for them?

Well, I hope my opinion counts. Much of what I say might just be rephrased from what you find in the guide, though.

Really about 85% recharge will do, as long as you max Eclipse's recharge plus Hasten. A little less if you go with the Spiritual Alpha.

The next thing to go for might be some defense or +max HP. Those are really the only ways to increase your survivability beyond what Eclipse gives you. Defense will be difficult to build a significant amount of, though.

After that, you're not going to find much benefit. A few damage bonuses won't be noticed when you've got mires running. You don't need +recovery or +endurance thanks to Stygian Circle and the Performance Shifters you can throw in a build. Accuracy would be overkill for the same reason damage is, but at least accuracy multiplies the benefit of +tohit.

My favorite philosophy is to just go whole hog for recharge. If Eclipse gets overlap, that gives you room for error. More than just Eclipse benefits from recharge, of course. Once you have enough recharge, just frankenslot for effectiveness. It saves slots and allows you to spread them out to get the largest number of well slotted powers.

You're not going to softcap a warshade to even one type/position and keep the recharge required for a permanent eclipse, let alone all types or positions. It's just not possible.

If you're asking which type of defense to build, then I'd say focus on S/L. That covers the largest variety of stuff. Unless you intend to lean heavily on Nova, in which case Ranged might be better.

My general rule, regardless of character, is ED cap damage, and get "enough" accuracy. Enough is usually one and a half SOs worth, but for a warshade you will be ok with less. Just don't skimp on the Mires' accuracy.

This question is one only you can answer. Which do you prefer?

Personally, I am pretty form heavy. I rarely ever stay in human form for long.

Put them where they give you the most benefit, which depends greatly on your personal playstyle.

Hecatomb can be nice for Gravity Well, since that's your hardest hitting attack, but beware that you won't be able to slot much hold. I have my Hecatomb in Dwarf Smite and some Basilisk's Gaze and common damage in Gravity Well.

Likewise with Armageddon. It should go in one of your mires; I'd recommend whichever one you use more often. I have mine in Dwarf Mire.

Ragnarok was no question in Nova Emanation for me, but some people might not use nova form that often and get more use by putting it in Unchain Essence.

Alpha: Spiritual if you want to perma Eclipse on the cheap. Musculature otherwise. There comes a point where more recharge doesn't actually do anything worthwhile.

Judgement: To taste. Void's -damage debuff will give you ridiculous survivability coupled with Eclipse, but I like Ion for the energy damage. It's nice to be able to throw something out that's different from your other blasts.

Lore: Also to taste. Warworks core is undisputed highest damage, for what that's worth.

Interface: If you're soloing, reactive DoT all the way. You and Fluffy will keep this at max stacks on all kinds of things. When you're teaming, everyone has reactive, so it gets mostly wasted. Go with anything else, but I'd recommend Gravitic to be able to cripple recharge.

Destiny: Clarion, no question, as it gives your Human and Nova mez protection. You have plenty of ways to deal with mez attacks, but Clarion makes it easy.

Unless you have more specific questions, anything else I could tell you is already in the guide.

See thats why I like you, Dechs. You removed almost all question marks in my head with a few sweep moves.

I mostly play nova/dwarf but sometimes just for fun i get on human drop orbiting death and some other toggles and see things die. Oh i use double mire quasar on occasional base too but its a lot less than when I first got quasar (my build mostly lack even SO's at the moment but I gathered a good amount of inf just to build it from scratch. I realise today in a lambda that dwarf mire can be stacked if there is enough recharge. Together with with reactive proc, i may aim on that end as well.

Ok this is what I came up with. I am really suck at these things, I guess since I end up with over-excessive recharge with spiritual alpha. I know, I said 3 purples but since I saw that I can get 4 pets for almost 20 second (someone need tocheck my math but I am positive that i can get 4 pets at least for 10 second) i think as well put that purple on dark extraction.

I really wish I could get some slots on quasar and orbiting death but frankly I don't know what to remove for them. I guess it is a little cost to get 4 pets but I am not sure if it worths that way. With current setting and hasten I can fire ebon nova bolt at every 2.2 second which is why I put build-up proc in it but I am not sure if it was really a good or bad idea.

I have 175% global recharge with perma hasten so far and I haven't finished building my purple sets yet, but I have about 20% s/l defense, softcapped with vengeance. I'll be able to get it up even higher when I get more purple sets because I can spec and stand to lose a couple of 5% rech bonuses for more defense and not lose any global rech.

I think Dechs meant that you can't softcap without inspiration or vengeance and for vengeance you need to be on a team it won't work on solo.

"Only Sith deal in absolutes."

Actually not QUITE correct.

It CAN be done. It's just that the build is NOT what I'd call "pretty" or even "useful".

Call me Darth Kaison if you want, because I just don't believe it.

I do not believe you can come up with a tri-form build that softcaps one type or position and still has permanent eclipse.

I would love to be proven wrong.

I think while playing with mids last night while making that build I com up wth one positional up to %35. I saw a few sets i could use to further up that but it was thanks to spirituals bonus and most of the sets required 6 slot to make it happen which may drop other regenration significantly (i am not even sure if its good enough with current one). Over all i am satisfied with number-wise with the build i made a few last minute changes on it like removing resusciate (never used it even on old build anyway) put stealth at 24th and get gravitic emanation. Slot-wise no changes. With hasten i have 5.1s recharge on dwarf mire which means i can stack it up almost half of time while in dwarf. Almost got perma sunless mire too so i can almost alwats be at damage cap while on dwarf and if i am lucky i may even pull out a full damage quasar with a small red.

One thing that bothers me while playing with WS is long form change animation. Its not a big deal while soloing but when with a team things die too fast before i can even change into dwarf or nova.

OK, I will send you a build later. It's nova-centric, but technically tri-form, with range softcap and perma eclipse. Happens to be the build I currently run, and it's amazingly survivable.

Edit: Also, there's this one, which is not necessarily one I would play. It's dwarf-centric, with perma-eclipse/hasten and softcap s/l. Uses Spiritual Core Paragon.

Had one built earlier today that was about as ghetto as this one.

But here you go for a quick one-off.

As you can see, it's defense capped with Stealth. So it's going to lose a chunk once it attacks.
HOWEVER, it's still quite over PermaHasten cap (therefore it's PermaEclipse), so I could back down on the recharge a bit and boost defense elsewhere.

ATTENTION: REMEMBER I NEVER CLAIMED THIS BUILD WAS PLAYABLE!

Call me Darth Kaison if you want, because I just don't believe it.

I do not believe you can come up with a tri-form build that softcaps one type or position and still has permanent eclipse.

I would love to be proven wrong.

Oh yes.

Here sithy sithy sithy! I gots somethin' fer ya!

That looks horrible. >< No mire? No unchain essence? No quasar? No dark extraction? Defense is not worth that many sacrifices.

The build I'm working my way into as my funds allow is going to land me with 25.5% s/l defense, 28.9% melee defense, a crap load of recharge and no missed essential powers. With capped resistance you shouldn't really even NEED to soft cap your s/l defense without vengeance. If you're playing your warshade right, you have the difficulty on at least +2x8 which means that someone else who isn't a warshade is going to die and you can hit vengeance.

To me, it only counts if you are still softcapped in forms. Softcapping by using Maneuvers, Weave, etc. is cake.

@TwoHeadedBoy, the point is simply that it can be done, not that it is necessarily ideal. That said, if you can do it while still getting all the powers you want, then it will add a bunch of survivability. Sure, 85% resistance is plenty for normal content. If you want to be a sologod in itrials, though, you might consider adding either some defense or a lot of +hp.

This. I assumed this would be inferred from my statement "Tri-form build" with softcap and perma-eclipse.

Vengeance carries over to forms doesn't it? I never said 85% resistance was all you needed, just that softcapping defense didn't seem necessary with it taken into account. Right now I have 18.62% s/l defense, and it's going to go up to 25.5% when I have the inf. to finish my build up which I think is plenty.

Like I said, I never promised the build would be playable. It was just a mental exercise.

So, yes, I'm mental, and *looks at gut* in desperate need of exercise.

I've been playing with this more and I was able to get 30.1% s/l defense, 35% melee defense, and 105% in recharge bonuses without sacrificing any key powers or their functionality. It's not soft capped but it's pretty close and I can't think of any better way to practically build for defense.

edit number one: I got up to 33.8% s/l defense but recharge dropped to 168.75% with perma hasten.

I don't have ninja or beast run, but if I did I would swap out super speed for stygian return and move the stealth proc over to sprint. This build has 39.4% s/l defense and 168.75% recharge with perma hasten. I wish there were more slots to go around for the nova blasts but with mires they should still be efficient enough.

I stuck with the original plan... I was trying to make a build with high defense that was perma eclipsed and also playable...

Oh right but i would appreciate critiques on my build at the moment since softcap defense would be least of worries on it :P

Right right. I promise I'll get to it tonight sometime after I get home from work. I became much busier than intended last night when I said I'd look at it. There is absolutely nothing for me to do tonight, so I foresee no problems.
