What will I miss?

Hey everyone! I was thinking about making a Villain and had a few questions about what badges are accessible to me.

Are there any one shot badges that I can miss while leveling up and not be able to get again?

Can Villains and Heroes go to Praetoria to get the exploration badges there? Does it matter? If I am a Villain and switch to Hero, can I get both the Rogue Isles and Paragon City exploration badges?

I guess I really want to know if all characters have access to the same amount of badges and if I need to go out of my way to grab one while leveling or I will miss out.

Thanks a bunch for the help!

The only badges you won't be able to get on a new character are the previous Anniversary badges, account-wide loyalty badges (if you don't already have them on your account), and event badges.

(And even the event badges are almost always able to be obtained the next time that event rolls around.)

You can get all Praetorian exploration, defeat and history badges, but as of now, only those who start in Praetoria can get Avid Reader, Loyalist, Resistance Member and Moral High Ground. And through side-switching between Hero and Villain, you'll have the opportunity to obtain ALL Hero and Villain specific badges.

Main Hero: Chad Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1396 Badges
Main Villain: Evil Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1193 Badges
Mission Architect arcs: Doctor Brainstorm's An Experiment Gone Awry, Arc ID 2093

Thank you so much for the quick reply! That answers most of my questions.

I used to play before the time travel stuff was added, does that allow me to go back and get mission badges that I miss? I remember having to plan ahead to get all of the badges I wanted. I just want to know now if I have to plan or if I can just go back and get them later.

Thanks again!

I'll just add to what Chad said by saying there's maybe a 100 or so badges that would likely be fairly hard to get now because the things that are invovled in getting them are relatively hard to work on now, or at least are harder than they were when there would have been more people interested in the same things. For example it's probably harder to get the PvP badges today just because on average there are fewer people PvPing. Still, I'd say that leaves maybe 90% of the badges in the game that are still readily earnable today.

BTW check out Paragonwiki.com for some of the most complete up-to-date info available on badges in this game. Good luck.

Ouroboros will let you get any badge mission from a regular contact. You will still need to get the Mayhem (and hero-side Safeguard) badges as you level.

Best way nowadays to get the RV AV badges is to be an incarnate then start broadcasting on server channels that you are seeking fellow incarnates that want to "Test their might" in RV against the AV's. Last time I did that, 13 of us assembled and rather quickly spawned and liquidated Recluse and his Lt's. Otherwise the odds of getting those badges are pretty slim as PVP interest has declined a bit.

You can get the Mayhem and Safeguard badges any time, even once you're 50. You just need to join someone else's mission.

It's worth pointing out that if you intend on starting a new badger in Praetoria, while you can get the badges Chad Gulzow-Man mentioned (Avid Reader, Loyalist, Resistance Member and Moral High Ground), you won't be able to go back to get them once you leave Praetoria (and Avid Reader is Praetorian tutorial only), so you want to be sure you get all the Moral Choice missions you can for Moral High Ground (you need 5, but the choice you make when you leave Praetoria counts), and change your loyalty at least once so you can get both Loyalist and Resistance member.
