Newbie and lost
Hi all
I just buy COH(going rogue) a week ago, but I couldnt start playing until a couple of days for "technical problems"(my pass was not working) In these two days I've been swarming around the server trying to get the hang of, but had not played a MMORPG, Since SWG (before Sony made it unplayable) So... A couple of questions: - You can form groups for specific missions or just to gain xp faster? There any particular place where people come together to form a group? - Like a "mastermind lvl5": What is best suited to win xp, get quests, or just kill kill kill? Thanks 4 ur time |
- If you're looking to gain XP at a faster rate, you can do three things.
- Form a group. Individual XP per-kill goes down, but the increased number of enemies and the bonus for teaming makes up for that.
- Crank up your difficulty. If you hit one of the Hero Corps guys floating around in the various zones, you can adjust your difficulty in several ways:
- Level relational to yourself. -2 to +4
- Number of enemies (effectively treating you as a team). x0 to x8
- Fight bosses or not
- Fight AVs or not.
- A combination of the two (teaming with bumped difficulty).
- Your best bet for finding teams are in the various channels specific to your server. Unfortunately I'm not a Triumph regular, so I'm unable to give you the specific names of various channels. Others who follow up should be able to do this though.
- Also, look on the forums here for various events (ship raids, Hamidon raids, open TF/Trial events, etc).
- At level 5, the differences in XP earnings between various enemy factions is miniscule. Just do your mission arcs, as you get XP and inf bonuses at the completion of every mission, as well as a big completion bonus at the end of an arc. Both of these will help you level faster than simply street-sweeping will, as you'll outlevel street mobs too fast and have to range further to try to find ones that'll award decent XP.
I believe that there is no best AT, it is how you play it.
Triumph Watch 2.0 and 2.1 are probably the most populated channels but they are really more for forming tf's and trials. Triumph LFT is for team forming but i'm not sure how active it is now as i'm not in it (also don't remember if it's public or not). APEX Hotline will occasionally have some regular team stuff going on. Just hit /chan_join "Triumph Watch 2.0", for example, to join these public channels. There are also some private channels that do teaming that you may be invited to as you play the game.
All the AT's have their strengths and weaknesses and all can be fun. Not sure I'd start with Mastermind as a first toon as it tends to be more complicated than the others, but it shouldn't take much longer to get used to than the others.
Thanks for answering.
Now im Lvl20 at the islands (more the villain kind), but still feeling lonely :P
In all the islands, only could find 1 guy yesterday, so, i suppose i will change server soon, its quite annoying play in a desert server, no too MMORPG
If your playing a villain I find that side has a lower population than hero side. You can switch sides by doing tip missions, after the first 10 you become a vigilante or rogue depending on what you start out as.Do the next 10 and you can become a full hero or villain also you get an A merit these can be traded for some of the best enhancements.Hope this helps you, enjoy the game.

I'm not sure if Triumph can withstand another stoner leaving us though. First gray, now this guy. Evil's gonna have to wake and bake all alone.

The server is not abandoned. We are, and you'll likely notice this on all servers, not on Villians much, most players are on Heroes side of the game.

Whatever... if u see a black smoke trail in the sky, say hi, its me flying around
P.D. mmmmm How i could change side/"city"? (yep, i know, newbie to the core, i still having problems understanding almost everything)
Once your level 20 you'll start getting tip's drop from random enemies.
You can find these tips in the contacts screen. You'll notice an odd looking counter and some bubbles under it.
When you run tip missions you'll have to pick between 2 moral options.
If your a villain it would be either Villain or Rogue.
If your wanting to become a hero pick the rogue tips.
You earn credit for them but can only earn credit on 5 a day. Once you complete 10 tip missions you'll have the morality mission drop for you.
Run the morality mission and confirm your rogue alignment and viola! Your now able to cross over to the Hero side.
In order to become a full fledged Hero instead of a Rogue (which has some restrictions) You'll need to do 10 more tip missions focusing on Hero alignment this time.
Maestro Mavius - Infinity
Capt. Biohazrd - PCSAR
Talsor Tech - Talsorian Guard
Keep Calm & Chive On!
