Hi Brutes. I'm leveling a SS/Fire brute and I'd like to do a mix of AE farms and PvE content. My understanding of the three epics I've listed is:

-Mu: best for farming due to Fences and Ball Lightning.
-Pyre: decent choice. Leverages Embrace of Fire.
-Soul: good all-around choice. Exotic damage type and great attack in Gloom plus defense in Darkest Night.

My biggest question is how much of a difference does Pyre experience from Embrace of Fire? I surmise that it's not significant enough to pull it to the head of the pack or more people would be shifting from Mu on their farmers. Any insights would be appreciated.

/FA doesn't get Embrace of Fire. That was what they renamed Fiery Embrace to for Doms when they changed the power. Now Fiery Embrace doesn't benefit fire powers any better then anything else. It just adds a damage proc to all damage powers. So Fiery Embrace isn't a reason to pick Pyre Mastery. As far as the other two, I like Soul Mastery, Gloom is great, Dark Obliteration is a good AOE. Doesn't have quite as much AoE as Mu, but still good.

My bad. I remembered the name had changed, but I couldn't recall from what to what. Thanks for the input.

I prefer /soul. Gloom is just to good to pass up from a DPA standpoint and Dark Oblit while not having as much over all damage as Fireball and Ball Lightning is all upfront damage instead of having to wait on the DOT's to tick off.

/Soul also leaves you open to pick up Darkest Night which is a very nice debuff to toss on hard targets.

Soul Mastery. You can still be a farming monster with it if that's your thing.

If you're just farming, I would go Mu for E-fences & Ball Lightning. Its the most efficient slot-wise for packing more AoE into your build.

If you are looking at general play as well, both Soul (stronger ST in gloom, better survivability in Darkest Night) and Fire (Stronger TAoE in Fireball, I think) offer quite alot.

I love Darkest Night. It's a debuff and a wicked aggro magnet/pulling tool. They'll chase you for miles

On the BAF, DN + attack + taunt and you've grabbed aggro for that silly sequester thing.

It's an end hog though.
