There appears to be a problem with the older Mac patch servers. The Launcher seems to patch much more reliably.

Launcher? I'm not sure I follow.
I heard something about a new Launcher that PC people have to use but that isn't implemented on the Mac yet. Is this what you mean? Or has it been implemented?
Anyway, do you have any suggestions?
I just finished doing a copy/paste from my Applications folder of City of Heroes over to my Mac Mini's public drive. I'm planning on deleting the City of Heroes application in the Applications folder on the Mini and then copying the one in its Public folder over into the Applications directory. It was only 4.55 gig or so.
Do you think that will work, or will that be a disaster?

Ah, well there we go. I have tried running my Mac Mini COH about a dozen times today, and on a whim I just tried one more time, and for some reason it saw the patch and its patching now.
I guess 13 is my lucky number.

There's a known bug if your CoH install path contains embedded spaces; rename it so it doesn't!

I agree that the new Launcher release has been underpromoted. I'll see if I can alert someone to that fact.

No idea - but if it's any indication, the older game clients have been removed from the download page (http://www.cityofheroes.com/account/...of_heroes.html) and replaced with the NC Launcher, both for Mac and PC. I'd have to say it won't be long before it's required.

All,
Today (May 3, 2011) there is a new patch. When I run COH on both of my iMacs, they patched up just fine. However, my Mac Mini simply can't see that there is a new patch today. It usually patches fine, it has been a champ for 6 months or more now, but today .... it just won't patch.
So my 2 iMacs are floating at today's version just fine (2010.201105021815.1) but my stupid Mac Mini is just hanging out at the previous version (2010.201104210057.1).
Does anyone know of a way to force it to update?

EDIT: I tried Verify All Files but that doesn't seem to help in any way.
