League Lag

Last night on the Virtue server, a group of about 30 people attempted to run a Mothership raid using the League system. We were almost instantly hit with crushing amounts of lag as our powers took forever to fire. You'd hit an attack... and it might fire several seconds later. You'd see groups of people gathered around the pylons doing nothing as they waited to make at least one attack. It was terrible.

For the second run, we broke the League and went with the setup of just several teams. No League formed, no League chat, etc, just a handful of teams communicating via Broadcast, Local, and Request. The lag encountered in the first raid? Non-existant this time around. Same with the third raid. No League, no lag.

I've encountered similar lag on Trial runs, especially with large Leagues, such as 24 man BAF runs. On smaller Leagues, those with less than 20 people, lot less trouble. There's still some lag with the powers, but not the situation where stuff like your Mez protection click is taking longer to fire than it's duration.

This makes me think there's something with the League system that's causing this lag. Because everyone on the raid had the exact some problem, and when we broke it, everyone said things ran smoothly. I hope this helps bring this problem to the dev's attention and it gets fixed soon.

We have encountered the same thing on Guardian with Leagues for Hamidon. The larger the League the more lag you get, no League, almost no lag. This isn't just limited to the BAF Trial as I've seen posted in another thread. There is something wrong with the League interface.

On Virtue we have the issue during the Hami raids. In fact, lag has been so bad, many of the regular leaders have decided to stay away from the raids until it's fixed.

We've encountered the lag and crashing regardless of using the League system. League lag has been worse than non-league, but non-league is still pretty bad.

I hope whatever's wrong is fixed soon. I miss mah Hamidon ;-;

Seems to be common when leagues grow above two or three teams. Hopefully whatever was done with the last patch will be undone with the next.

I was on Sunday's MS raids and corroborate. The very damning proof that it was the league was the fact that Raid 1 was a 5-team league (40 participants, Rev, there were 5 full teams. 5x8=40. ) and lagged to the point of unplayability... and Raids 2 and 3 were ~40-50 participants, conducted "old school" (with teams, no league) and it ran smooth as silk (for a raid).

During the first raid, you could literally walk away from your keyboard and grab a snack or something while waiting for a power to fire. For example: I have Charged Bolts down to roughly 1.5s recharge inside Hasten and Ageless Destiny, yet it sometimes took upwards of 3 real minutes for it to fire. I admit I wasn't watching my ping ingame, but it was in fairly normal out of it (80-200ms on Vent).

I suspect it's probably all the combat information flying everywhere, myself.
