If you want a brute to be your new main, go with some style, especially with all the Incarnate stuff you can make you resistance based sets the most beastly.
For instance I am currently leveling two brutes that will be taking over the reigns as my #1 (previously it was Elec/Shield)

I'm quite biased with regards to SS/fire but thats what i use as my main and i must say its quite good. It's like... master of all trades. It can farm. It can tank. It can kill AVs. And it aint to bad at PvP.

SS/Fire is great for more than just farming. I've got one myself, and although it pales in comparison to my friend's multi-billion inf build (which it should), it's great fun. If you can make friends with a sonic or cold defender, you'll be even happier. Ageless and Reactive are your best friends if you decide to go with ss/fire. Reactive does gobs of damage currently and Ageless gives you infinite END, allowing you to unslot stam/health and use them elsewhere.
The only issue I have with ss/fire is that you can feel very squishy until you build up defense. Mine goes splat unless I'm careful, whereas my friend can simply charge the containers in Lambda and clear them solo in short order.
Barrier is much more useful on SS/fire, not only does it give you an awesome god mode but if you get it to Vrare on core you get 5% def at all times. Which means you dont have to slot so much to get to the soft cap, so you can get more +rech/recov etc. But yeah, you really do need to invest a bit in it (soft cap it) for it to really be awesome. And when i say awesome i mean [awesome.

Many thanks for the reaply i started a ss/fire only lvl 9 so far but blazing aura and fury really help kill things fast start on a Lt. and blazing aura does weaken the minions so 1 or 2 hits are enough to kill them fun combo to play more fun than fire/sd i hope in the future they give fire melee more option to go all sword or all punch animation.

what the topic says looking for a new AT playing with a fire/sd scrapper for months but getting abit bored of it after watching so long at fire melee weapon redraw it gets anoying.. flaming sword than flaming fist and so on. was thinking to give a brute a spin was thinking of 3 kinds of brutes Claw/fire , SS/Fire or SS/WP what would be fun to do incarnate content and see it grow stronger.
Any information and tips are welcome.
