While I'm excited for any DC Animated Movie that comes out, the plot in Batman Begins is a loose translation of Batman: Year One isn't it? So I'd have liked to see Batgirl: Year One or maybe the Killing Joke instead.

After looking up the JLA: Tower of Babel story arc 1: I am excited, 2: I hope either bring back the JLU or the Crisis on Two Worlds voice actors for that one.

Would rather have the JLU voice actors as I didn't think Baldwin made a great Batman voice nor did I like him as Superman in Superman: Doomsday.

Batman Begins was a very loose adaptation of Batman Year One. About the only thing the two have in common is that Bruce has returned to Gotham after his years of traveling and training and begins to setup shop as Batman and that at the end of Year One and Begins, Gordon gives Batman a heads up about some new costumed criminal and gives him a Joker card that was evidence. Also in Begins, Batman did summon the swarm of bats as he did in Year One.

Rha's Al Ghul was never in Batman Year One. Batman Year One was about Bruce setting up shop, making sure to also setup his playboy image to divert suspicion that he was Batman (though Gordon still suspected), and Bruce dealing with the corrupt police commissioner, police force and organized crime in the city. No super villains or costumed villains, it was all street level. No plans to burn down Gotham by a shadow society, etc.

I look forward to the scene where Bruce is wounded and bleeding in the mansion and staring at the bust of his father wondering how to make them afraid, when the bat flies through the window and perches atop the bust..... "yes, father.....I shall become a bat!"

I would really enjoy if they animated Dark Knight Returns.

Very very very very very loose

Part 1 of Year one talk about Bruce's first attempt to fight crime after he gets back and he nearly gets himself killed and resigns to die at the end unless he gets a sign, which he gets in the form of the bat through the glass.
Part 2 of Year one has Bruce's first outing in the full Batman costume...a bit of time where he is stopping petty criminal and his first encounter with Gordon and Sarah Esson...who shoots him.
Part 3 of Year One is where the GCPD has him cornered in a building and he escapes, we see Catwoman get inspired, and Gordon questioning himself and the GCPD and whether or not Batman is a bad guy since he obviouslly could have killed several officers but did not.
Part 4 Gordon, Dent, Batman united front begins to forms. Gordon suspects Bruce Wayne of being Batman but buries the files. Catwoman and Batman have their first encounter. People try to kill gordon. Batman saves his son's life. Joker is mentioned at the very ends.

Batman Begins...
Starts with training in the orient... and flashbacks of parents getting shot, bat in the well, and Bruce thinking of killing someone but then runs away to go train. <- none of this is in year one

Bruce returns and starts putting together the batman suit having taken on the words of ra's that you need to be theatrical and never actually fights crime before the suit is finished and doesn't have the bat through glass thing.

Gordon is already well established in the GCPD. He's not attacked by his fellow officers and he is never saved by Batman nor is Batman shot at by Esson nor does batman save his son...nor do Batman and Gordon meet with Batman posing in different guises.

You know the only thing that is really similar is Batman is chased after at first and he is cornered in a building that he uses Bat sonic thingies to call bats... In the movie version it's to save a woman and he is helped by Gordon... in the comic he is just trying to get away, Gordon is outside and the other officers actually wound other officers because they are firing on Batman.

So really... 1 hugely altered scene and 1 very base level concept of a 4 issue story... yeah not so much is Batman begins Based on Batman: Year One

also i dont think that batgirl: year one would be a good DC animated movie...Batgirl IV animated series or a Robin III/Red Robin animated series would rock and probably bring in a ton of money.
