Were your fees refunded or not?

Either way, /bug it in-game. Talking about it here won't put eyes on it.

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

There is a huge difference between /petition and /bug.

Filing a /petition only goes to Customer Service and they can do very little in this situation.

Filing a /bug report goes to the QA team who will look at the records and try to recreate the situation. If they are able to consistently recreate it they will likely be able to determine the cause of the problem and pass it along to the appropriate team to fix. Even if they can't recreate it they will generally keep it in the database in case other reports come in on the same thing and then they begin looking for commonalities in order to try to recreate it.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

He lost influence due to a bug, that is precisely the sort of situation CS can help with.

If he indeed lost influence, yes, they can help with that. It still doesn't report it as a bug to the correct department. If they determine that no influence was actually lost, only that the player didn't see that the influence was returned along with the item, then they won't be able to help with anything and they won't classify it as a bug. See my response below.

IF the CS person determines that it is a bug, they often do forward it. However, often they don't realize that what happened was due to a bug so it doesn't get reported.

In either case, my post was based on Hyperstrike telling them to /bug it in game and them replying that they'd done a /petition. I was merely clarifying that the two commands are different and how.

EDIT: The math in the OP certainly doesn't add up. The claim was that he listed the item for 190 million. The listing fee for that should be 9,500,000 inf (5%). The OP claims that the first time he paid only 98.5 million, which is well over the listing price. He also claims he was charged 48750000 mil the second time, which is far above the 190 mil he listed it for. When the numbers in a post don't make sense, I tend to question whether the poster could accurately determine if the fees were refunded or not.

Are you getting confused between listing and selling fees?

When you place an item on the market you are charged a listing fee - 5% of asking price - if you are asking 190mill this will be 9.5mill.

When the item sells this fee is refunded and the selling fee is deducted from the inf you get paid. e.g. if the item listed at 190mill sells for 250mill you are refunded the 9.5mill and charged 10% of the selling price - 25mill - i.e. a net 15.5mill which means you will receive 234.5mill from the market.
