I20 Incarnate Slots and Defender Primaries Synergy Discussion
The Rebirth heal is great for when people don't back out of stuff like Nova Fist in time. It'll also lessen your dependence on green insp, so you can bring more red insp if you want to do as much damage as possible .

I certainly don't think there's one right answer here, though. Certainly if you want to be more safe, I think Rebirth is the choice. I just don't like spending more powers on safety, because that seems to so rarely be a concern.
Rebirth = more endurance and recharge and debuff protection, which is also quite handy; you can help prevent cascading defense failure for you and your teammates, more rech = more dmg, and I don't know if you have any endurance issues but it doesn't exactly hurt to add even more recovery.

That does sound fun. Kinda makes me wish I was //Soul instead of //Dark. But I like my short soul drain recharge too much.
Barrier is obviously redundant, and Clarion is fairly silly with Dispersion already there. That said, my Blaster recently found out just how amusing it can be to pop DOUBLE Power Boost right before hitting Vengeance; /EM has the normal power, and Clarion Radial packs both Boost Range and Power Boost. Together, stupid-awesome stuff happens.

Process of elimination gives me Ageless, and hey, the debuff res on the right side of the tree partially fills a hole in FF anyway [...]

Sadly, you can't get both debuff res and recovery at once, but oh well. Like I said earlier, I'm pretty sure I'll go for the debuff res.
|
Or are there any hidden powers that do -res in ff/dark/dark that could be improved?
Because I was under the strong impression that the +85% debuff res in Ageless only improves upon -res powers you already have, instead of adding a new effect somewhere (If my FF/Sonic goes incarnate, the ageless -res does look very appealing).
But I could be wrong, anyone know for sure?
If my impression is right, you might be better served by going for the end side of Ageless... Even if your end is already under control, +recharge usually means you're eating up end much faster...

They are referring to Debuff Resistance, as in, giving the allies and the caster resistance to Defense, Recovery, Endurance, Recharge, Movement Speed, Regen, Perception, and ToHit Debuffs.
It is not adding a resistance debuff to your attacks.

As for my own rad/rad/dark, this is what I went for:
Alpha - Musculature Radial Paragon: I just couldn't resist the overkill of improving upon everything I do, even if I'm mostly taking advantage of the ignore ED part of the buff. Now my AM gives out even more recovery (and running), my RI debuffs a bit more and I hit the damage cap with less foes inside Sould Drain.
Interface - Reactive Radial Flawless: At first I thought about going core, out of rad/son envy I guess, but seeing how piddly the debuff was and how nice the DoT was, I quickly switched. I especially notice this melting things when I use my AoEs, of which I have quite a few to pick from in rad blast and dark mastery...
Judgement - Void Radial Final Judgement: I'm often hovering just above melee range anyway for soul drain and irradiate, adding another AoE that doesn't even require me to pick a live target (and with how quick things die nowadays, that can take time!) is great. The fact that after I hit them hard the damage from the return fire against my poor defender HP is cut in half, or nearly so, only adds more win. It also meshes very well thematically with dark mastery. As a side note, seeing Judgement's damage buffed by both Alpha and Interface is very nice, but unrelated to the choice of judgement power.
Destiny - Clarion Core Epiphany: Perma mez protection so my debuffs won't drop? Yes, please, right now! I did not think this would help much in teams (aside from how much keeping my AoE debuffs up more already helps), but it seems more uncommon than Rebirth or Barrier and I've noticed more than a few times how much smoother it is for some of the controllers near my door during the BAF escapees phase to just run to the door and PBAoE mez without fearing the damned confuse there... (This is the one slot I only have a rare for Dr.Gamma, all others got their very rare slotted).
Lore - Warworks Radial Superior Ally: I was of the opinion the pets were pretty similar, so for once I picked the one I liked more for the character. Scientist summoning an invulnerable floating ball of buffing and a "female" curvy killer robot with dual blades looked orders of magnitude cooler than any of the other options (even if they're all "essences"). Besides, I wanted a melee-focused pet to slap AVs/EBs on the face when solo and hold their attention away from me, like my own pocket scrapper or an infinite amount of Alpha Wolves/Shivans/etc. Finding out that Vicky added even more debuffs to the mix was nice, but honestly, I already debuff quite well, and finding out that my invulnerable floating gizmo of +5% def also adds even more mez protection along with its heal is nice, too, but since I went Clarion, it isn't game changing in 99% of the situations, I guess. I considered going seers for the buffs, but I honestly have no trouble at all hitting stuff and I already buff my damage considerably, plus they're not all scrapperish melee and not half as cool as Vicky. I also considered going for the other options with more AoE, but I figured I got the AoE covered, what I want the occasional pet for is for harder targets.
For my FF/Son/Psy, when/if I get him into more I20 stuff, I'm going for:
Alpha - Cardiac Core Paragon: helps him everywhere
Interface - Reactive Radial Flawless or maybe Diamagnetic Radial Flawless
Judgement - Pyronic Core Final: moar AoE damage to plug that hole
Destiny - Rebirth Radial Epiphany: all I need for more unkillability
Lore - Clockwork Core Superior Ally: still on the +dmg, +AoE track and I'm sure I can keep both alive for their duration with bubbles + rebirth.

How reliably does the Battle Orb keep you from being mezzed? The aura looks like it just protects from Stun and Immob, and if its toggled on and off, not so helpful, and the Deploy Stimulant only lasts 5 sec from the description, unless I am missing something.

That's why I went Clarion Destiny even with the Orb. But for 5 seconds after being healed by the Orb, I have some extra mez protection which might come in handy... someday... <.<

I have a question Actually. I'm working on my Fire/Storm and I wanted to know what Alpha to take. Spiritual would give me tasty Recharge...but Storm CONSUMES end. I know Ageless would kill most of my Endurance Issues but is it enough for a Fire/Storm? I tend to like to use Tornado and Waterspout on hard Targets Especially since they both have procs in them. Sometimes I spam my Immob to keep the baddies clustered for Lightning Storm.
Halp! lol

How I went on my Storm/Rad/Power, who I build to solo effectively and still team well.
Alpha: Musculature Core Paragon. I love squeezing out as much damage as possible on my Defender, and there are more than a few attacks I had (Neutrino Bolt, Lightning Storm) that benefitted well from procs and other slotting, such that I could make use of the damage enhancement. Plus, it's monstrous with resist debuffs and the Ion Core tree.
Judgment: Ion Core. Aside from being thematic, the chains reach quite a long way, making it an effective AOE even if the enemies have been spread out by Storm powers. I'd never even consider any other judgments for Storm characters.
Lore: Clockwork Core. I was pretty "ehh" about this choice, and honestly, if I would've known we were getting new pets so soon, I wouldn't have bothered with Lore at the time. I mainly picked them because they were all ranged, so all my knockback solo wouldn't hamper their ability to do damage.
Interface: Reactive Radial. I love damage, and Fire DOT is beautiful even with the nerf to it in Rain powers. I still have plenty of AOE to throw around to tag enemies with the DOTs.
Destiny: Clarion Core. One of the biggest no-brainers I've ever come across in this game. My game-long dream come true: actual, permanent mez protection for my Storm Defender, who has been my main since day one. I could hardly believe it when I read the power description. I'd say this power, more than any of the other incarnate powers, is what allows me to now solo +4/x8 without being reliant on inspirations. Now I never have to worry about Snowstorm and Hurricane being detoggled, and I can respec out of Acrobatics.
Here are my thoughts for Dark/. My experience is mostly from my Fire/Dark Corruptor but in most cases they apply better to a Dark/ defender, especially a Dark/Dark.
Alpha: Musculature Radial Paragon for the To-Debuff. It's the set's primary tool so anything to make it stronger is welcomed. More damage is always good. The immobilization and endurance modification are a bonus for D3s. Don't forget the Alpha slot is passed along to Fluffy.
Judgement: Pyronic Radial Final Judgement. Higher target cap and chance for stun (will stun a boss). Can't remember what you need to stun a Elite Boss but with Howling Twilight you have to be getting close. More a thematic choice than anything.
Interface: Reactive Core Flawless Interface, the only slot that feels effective all the time.
Lore: With I20.5 adding even more pets this is going to become even more a thematic choice than it already is. Currently running Seers just for the +tohit and dmg from the support pet.
Destiny: Get 2. Ageless Core Epiphany and Clarion Core Epiphany. Ageless if you don't think you are going to get mezzed to speed up the group. Clarion for permanent status protection.
On my cold/dark/mace defender I went:
Alpha-Spiritual- my patron pet is now nearly perma and heatloss is pretty much always ready. also lifedrain benefits from the heal bonus a little. my pve build was mostly just what i had lying around so its not really ideal for set bonuses so the extra recharge is really noticeable.
Lore-Seers- this one i didnt think through but having a little extra defense is welcome, though they seem to be pretty dumb as pets go. if i did it all over again id go with warworks vickys, although i like how the idf looks asthetically.
Judgement-Cryonic- mostly chosen for theme/concept but i am partial to cone powers over targetted aoe/pbaoe anyway.
Destiny-Clarion- +special and +range on top of the mezz protection was too good to pass up with my cones from /dark and cryonic.
Interface-Reactive- its too obvious not to pick, damage procs make me happy in the pants. i have both 75% t3's as of posting but i will eventually go for the 75% dmg 25% -res proc t4 if i ever get another very rare.
