SG or Cult?
It's people like this that should be sterilized so they don't infect the rest of the population with their offspring.
It's also people like this that form mobs, commit genocide, and form new religons.I tend to stay away from folks like that, their alil' too glassy eyed and chemically imbalanced for me.
Buyer beware, he requires all members to be on VENT. This is how he monitiors and keeps tabs on you via IP address, just in case you become a security risk in the future by not following orders. Also even if your in a another SG, he'll blind invite you..if your on team he'll kick you after a mish or so. Im really suprised this SG leader is still the game, I would like to see the mountain of petitions against him. My advice like others said...stay away from him and group no good will from them.

Many of us are educating the recruits on there and informing them of the leader's tactics. He is beyond unbelievable. I think anyone who ends up staying with them is just asking for it. I have witnessed some unreal acts of cruelty by them and I am sad to see the game has not banned their leader - he is the real problem. Some SG members are decent folks but their way and leader have long overstayed their welcome. I really hope, one day, the devs do something about them.
3. Please do not use the term "LFT" in any guild chat. Either use the term "Willing to help" (Abbreviations don't count, don't be lazy) or form a team and offer spots to the SG members. This helps create teams and keep an active SG while reducing spam in our guild chat.
2. No discussion of other guilds in or out of coh in our forums (even by reference) Daaaaaaaang. |

I'd imagine that "direct orders" means whatever he wants it to at the time. "Hey, I just got my first purple!" "As your guild leader, I'm giving you a direct order to turn that over to me." (Just as a totally made up example.) A slightly more reasonable version would be if he notices that you're playing solo, and orders you to help fill out a team, or some other variation on "micromanage the peons so they don't forget Who Is Really In Charge!"
It seems to me that a group like that can only exist by preying on new players, preferably ones who are new to MMOs in general. I can't imagine that many of his recruits come from players who have spent time on other servers, or even much time in the game in general. Players from other servers would have friends "from outside the family," and probably belong to another SG. (Even if it's just a solo SG with a private crafting table.)
The problem is, that people like that are usually pretty careful to avoid breaking any actual rules. Yes, it's a scummy thing to do to allow someone to join a TF, and then kick them just before the final mission because they didn't want to join his group. But it's not actually a rules violation. Ditto for the insane rules in his SG - after all, the members are free to quit at any time, so they're presumably following the rules voluntarily. (The fact that they might be newer players with no idea that such rules are seriously not Standard Operating Procedure is also not a rules violation.)
I'd imagine that he does also manage to spoil the game for some players, and that at least a few have quit the game entirely after some time exposed to this group and no other. I'm also certain that some players are actually proud to be part of such an SG. I played That Fantasy MMO for a while, and frankly some of his rules seem absolutely sane compared to some of the more psychotic Raid guilds. I know of at least two on the server where I played that had rules about the minimum number of times per week a member was REQUIRED to be available to join raid teams. Players weren't guaranteed to get a slot in the raids, but they were required to be online and ready to join in the moment the Guild Leader asked. When the game switched to the system where a player's Real Name became their equivalent of the @Global here, I know at least one group was planning to require that all members give their Real Name to the leader. Anyone failing to comply would be kicked from the guild. With the threat that they'd be blacklisted from any team lead by the Guild Officers in the future. It was my impression at the time that such rules were actually considered normal there, or at least not completely psychotic.
OMG yes. I didn't really examine the web site as much until I saw Xzero's post. I have had dealings with the IDIOT that is in charge of this group. He loves to invite low level characters to teams, usually in PI, and then after a mission or two .. from what I have heard sometimes even during a mission the TELL arrives asking if you want to join a really GREAT SG.
Well in my case my 5 level had to inform him I was already a member of an SG and one of its leaders. Now I did nothing else wrong and was even polite in declining his offer.. I said I was sorry but I was a leader of another SG. I was KICKED off the team in the middle of Peregrine Island and Mister TACTFUL wouldn't even respond back to my tells when I asked what had happened. I came here to the forums and told my story and LOW AND BEHOLD.. he does that crap all the time. I guess he's too STUPID to realize a 60+ month Vet that already belongs to an SG might actually have a Base teleporter.. probably figured I would be trapped there and maybe even BEG him to let me join his SG so he'd rescue me. He's on my global ignore list now and if you are smart he'll be on your's as well. Oh by the way he is quite possibly the worst TANK I have ever teamed with I wouldn't even team with him again let alone join an SG he runs. You are not missing a thing from avoiding him and frankly I am amazed he has anyone willing to adhere to that list of BS rules he came up with. I put opver 20 years in the Military and the rules and regulations we had were not that insanely strict. AVOID contact with him at all costs |
I needed to quote you here because i have been visiting Virtue in the last two weeks and i decided that it will be my second home server. I'm planning already to make my main Virtue character seriously to be 50+ and maybe this person is the same that i encounter.
¿This individual is a Fire Tanker? if so, i must be very careful now. I saw how he even kick some other players that were playing there archetypes like it is without no reason. Well if this is the same person I'm thinking, i wasn't exaggerating for sure about some things i didn't like about his attitude.

Yes he does play this particular AT, send a tell or message me if you have any questions on this guy. He use to do the same tactics on Champion server, he left becuase as a server we were fed up and mass petitioned, unfortunatley he was back 8 months later after doing the same things on Star trek online and WoW.

Now I only lasted with him for one mission before I declined his SG invite and was dropped so I am not sure about him kicking players for not playing their ATs the way he felt they should but considering his RULES for his SG It wouldn't suprise me one bit. He is a micromanager and basically a sleeze ball. We need a Dev to give him one of those yellow tags to float above his head for the rest of his life that says.. Avoid contact .. Player is insane

Were always the good guys. In D&D, were lawful good. In City of Heroes were the heroes. In Grand Theft Auto we pay the prostitutes promptly and never hit them with a bat. Leonard
Those women are prostitutes? You said they were raising money for stem cell research! Sheldon
To be honest I can't really recall if he was a Fire Tank or not Yunalesca. But if you have teamed with him you'd recognize his tactics(?) He has "FOLLOW THE TANK" as either a bind or a Macro and hits it over and over as he runs through missions. Also loves to herd which wouldn't be a bad thing if he didn't try to herd entire floors at once and overwhelms the capacity of any team to cope with the huge mobs headed toward them. I can't recall the exact wording but he has a second bind or macro he uses when he is set to herd that is something like.. "HERDING TO HERE DON"T FOLLOW ME"

After getting a very good private advice and yourself letting me know his macros, yes it is the same individual. In my personal opinion he will be doing a lot better if he wouldn't take things with such extreme measures. That was his choice, so he has already make his decision.
I don't like name calling but since what i am using it is in City of Heroes language and is a very soft joke, i call him now Father Mayhem. When i teamed with him, i was trying to not make a single mistake, since that would be the worst thing i could do. I can be very loose with my support Crab, since i know her tactics to easily help a 8 player team, but with a Scrapper, i take more precautions since i don't want to mess the Tanker's herding in one bit.
Now i can be very aware of everything and ready to avoid any possible trouble. When i read this, i was a little surprised to see this information here. Oh well!
IMHO not every supergroup is for everyone. If you don't like the rules of the sg your in quit. I personal like to form my own opinion of the sg's I join, I have been in plenty of sg's that had rules that were alot more strict than the one everyone is talking about. I have made some great friends in every sg I have been in. So join the sg and make your own mind up about it. Just my 2 cents

His ppl in his sg imo are sheep, if you like to be led around in a yoke, be spoon fed drivel, and buy into that kind of control then maybe it's for you.
I like personal freedom's, the ability to make my own decisions, and not be forced into playing a game where my actions are monitored and controlled. The bigger picture I'm sure is that alot of people like to be led or just don't know what's going on.
I have seen strict sg's also and have been in a few albeit very briefly, I don't need to be told how to play a game or controlled.
Telling someone they cannot make friends outside the sg, can't break any of the leaders rules, or be threatened with expulsion is a control nuts personal paradise.
The guy wants sheeple not friends...
Boy's stupid.
