Am thinking of remaking my fire based character yet again as a Fire/Dark Cor.

I've never played Dark, so thoughts appreciated. This is a purely paper build at the moment.

- 25% ranged defence combined with the debuffs from DN & FS should make me hard to hit, hence no epic armours?
- +78% accuracy from sets means not much missing, even with Twilight Grasp.
- I like Flares. I know they are bemoaned, but I like 'em
- End looks like it might be a problem.
- Ran out of slots at the end, hence a load of one-slot-dump powers from 41 on. (May switch FoN for CJ and another LoTG)

I've played a Fire/Fire blaster to 50 so am aware of most of the Fire powers, as well as having played a Fire/Storm troller to 50 that has had to be purpled & uniqued and Alpha'd to get the blue bar manageable. That said, Hurricane, plus about +13% def keeps her very safe, so I know the value of those debuffs.

Depending on how this plays (and I did love the damage my Fire/Fire dealt) I may opt for Spiritual or Cardiac alpha slots.

Not looking for a min/max build - just a fun one (hence keeping flares!) and a relatively safe one. I have had a look at +Def builds and it's a definite sacrifice of +Recharge to get a good solid +Def.

Any thoughts? Good, bad indifferent?

I absolutely love my Fire/Dark Corruptor, damage, debuffs and a pet (even though it's half brain dead). As someone that prefers Scrappers I find myself left out of many of TFs because it seems as if everyone wants to play on their Scrapper when I'm on mines. But with a Fire/Dark you have the right mix of ranged damage, debuffs and heals.

Below is my build, it's pre Inherent Stamina. I'm far too lazy to convert the build now. But I did pick up the Power Mastery pool over Mace Mastery only because the Villain power pool Sarifina mission keeps crashing on me for the last two months. I also picked up the Incarnate Cardiac set.

He is, but sometimes I want him to stay put while I toggle heard a room around a corner into Tar Patch. He'll of course follow me like a good fluffy, but once he engages a group he stays with them until he's dead (which isn't very often). I'd like him to follow me regardless so I have to dismiss him first. I really miss the days when I could have three fluffies out at once...

Have you considered dark mastery for the end recovery and build up feature? This would make nuking easier. Black hole? For real? That said, I do think this is built for success.

Hi Laughing Man,

You will love your Fire/Dark, if two power sets were ever meant to be together, these are it!

Here is my build. Highlights include:
Decent haste: My hasten is at 1.34 compared to your 1.26, though my
build doesn't have any Purple Sets yet.
Strong Defense: My Ranged defense is at 41%
Strong Resists: My S/L Resist is at 50%+

I also tried to really remain 'true' to the powers. For example, I could have gotten another 2 and a half % ranged defense from Blaze, but wanted the extra range in the power instead.

I went with the Dark APP which works thematically, and also gives me Oppressive Gloom if any minions do get close to me, and a self rez.

Another highlight is the increased perception IO in Aim, it's really nice when fighting Night Widows with their blackout bombs.

One downside is Ninja Run as the travel power, but I like Ninja Run so it's not a downside for me. Also, I gain full invisibility from Sprint when I want it with a Stealth IO in it.

Lastly Black Hole is a really skipable power if you do have others you are interested in.

This build is endurance intensive so you need Cardiac with it, I don't have that version of Mids on this computer but it's also nice as it increases your range, and your Resists from 50% to closer to 60% if I remember correctly.

I wouldn't know where to get the slots from, or what to compromise... (Flares...? Nooo!)

Thank You The Laughing Man for this thread. I am thinking about a new toon to play with some different powers than I have in the past and would like to try a Corruptor Fire/Dark.

I do have one question about Endurance, how is that holding up with your build?
