Stalker - Martial Arts

Well, the thought was not to exchange Thunder Kick for Dragon's Tail, but drop Thunder kick from the line up, shift everything else up and place DT in a spot appropriately. So Storm Kick would be the 1st power, 2nd Crippling Axe Kick and 3rd Cobra Strike. Although those attacks do recharge slower than Thunder Kick, they also do better damage for their endurance costs...and they have better secondary effects for higher mitigation compared to Thunder Kick.
The Shadow-Maul-Two-Step is difficult to learn, but easy to master. At the very least it's some AOE rather than none.
As for Thunder Kick being exchanged for Dragon's Tail, I think it would adversely affect low-level Stalker play. Dragon's Tail has a long, long recharge. Imagine having only that as an attack to start out. A lot of players would probably abandon the build right then and there. However, an option where you can take either Thunder Kick or Dragon's Tail, in the same way you can take one power or another from some APPs/PPPs would probably work wonders for the set. Today's PvE game is just so multi-target focused, any set that doesn't have at least one AOE option can only be considered broken on some fundamental level. I say that as a fan of Stalker Martial Arts. |
As for the suggested Assault sets for Stalkers, I'd have to see some examples. Over all, I feel you can already get a similar effect thanks to the epic/patron pools. They have a ranged attack, an AoE and probably some control too. But then I guess this theoretical new Stalker would have different epics too.

Yes, this was my thought. Just to drop it all together.
