Alignment Missions/Merits?

So I was reading the forums and came across this:

Quote:
One other thing: Do your tip missions. You can do up to 5 each day, and while running them, you have a chance of purple recipes (if you're a level 50). Every other day, you'll be able to do an Alignment Mission. The first Alignment Mission will reward you with 50 Merits. After that, each Alignment Mission you do will award you an Alignment Merit. Alignment Merits can be used to purchase almost anything in the game. If you're tight on money, it's almost always better to get an expensive recipe with A-Merits instead of Inf. And if you prefer, you can sell the expensive item you got, and have enough to pick up a handful of cheaper IOs instead.
and this:

Quote:
Alignment merits are probably the most reliable way to make INF, and are great for people with limited (1-2hrs/day) play time. Save up 30 and buy a Gladiator's 3% defense, then sell it for 2-3 billion, or sell other expensive IOs like Luck of the Gambler global recharge.
So, you may be able to guess, I would like to make money by doing alignment missions. Do I do this just by doing the missions that say "You have found a tip!"? Or after I do those missions, I will get another mission you of the blue and after I do that one I will get merits...

Basically I'm asking for a little guide on this whole alignment missions/merits thing, or maybe a link to a thread already dedicated to this?

Thanks a ton!

P.S. I think I ask to many questions on this forum...this is my fourth in two days.

Paragon Wiki has all knowledge.

After you do 10 Alignment Missions from those tips, if you have Going Rogue, you can get a Morality Mission. If you reconfirm your Hero or Villain alignment, you'll get an A-Merit (the first time you get 50 Reward Merits and 20 million inf instead)... Rogues and Vigilanties can't accululate Alignment Merits, and switching alignments will cause you to lose any you have built up.

Short form: Check the wiki. I'll see about tracking down a link in a sec.

Medium form:
Alignment merits are rewarded from doing alignment (morality) missions and staying "pure" (Hero or Villain) as opposed to grey (Rogue/Vigilante.) You do 5 tips (which drop from any enemy level 20 or up) a day. After 10 tips, the next one that drops *should* be an alignment mission - you'll get that even if you've run all your tips.

The first time you get your alignment misison, you won't get an A-merit, but will get a nice cache of reward merits (and a countdown to your alignment power.) The second (and after) times, you get a merit.

Also, every 20 hours you can turn in 20,000,000 INF and 50 reward merits (from memory) and buy an Alignment merit.

And don't worry about asking too many questions - but do bookmark paragonwiki (in my signature.) It's a good resource.

Depending on whether you're a hero or villain, you can make merits by enforcing your current allignment. If you're a hero, do hero tips, and villain do villain. After you do 10 you can do your morality mission, which drops like a tip. You can only do 5 tips every 20 hours, therefore 50 merits OR 1 hero/villain merit every 40 hours. The first time you do your hero/villain morality you will get 50 merits, then once you do it again you just get the hero/villain merit. It is a VERY handy way of earning merits. I've made several billion inf and acquired some useful IO's using hero merits. If you would like to chat mroe about it, hit me up in game!

Nick!

I think you just get the Reward Merits and have to provide the 20 million inf to make an A-merit yourself. If you're short on cash you can keep the Reward Merits, do another two days of missions, and get an A-merit straight. The profits from that A-merit can be used to generate the next A-merit from the R-merits. If that's unclear... sorry.

You need to do a little research to find the wealth-generating recipes- Luck of the Gambler Global Recharge is popular, Kinetic Combat has a couple of good sellers for one AM, etc- and remember to check the price of the CRAFTED and not just the recipe. Usually 3.5 million inf of ingredients will make you 10-40 million higher sale price.

I believe you can turn Reward Merits into Alignment Merits withough Going Rogue. You can't do the morality missions, though,so you're [relatively] stuck doing task forces and Ouro stuff for your merits.

You may have also noticed the "10-40 million more for the crafted" bit up there and concluded that you can buy something, craft it, and sell it for 10-40 million more, and make money that way.

There are a few tricks and traps to it, but yes. The way of the Marketeer is open to all, and we never shut up about our secrets. NEVER!

So you think you're a hero, huh.

Ah, good catch. I went to Pwiki to make sure I was right before, and I'm pretty sure when I quickly looked I read the wrong thing (since I just went to check, and it doesn't mention the 20 million inf there ). Good catch!

Also, I'm rather liking the 1 A-Merit for 5 rare recipes dealio, although it's more of a gamble than just going with a known-winner like LotG+Recharge.

Note that even before you get GR, you can spend 20 million and 50 reward merits to get an A-merit every 20 hours, and reward merits are now even easier to come by than ever is you do the Weekly Strike Target for double rewards. This will let you bank up some A-merits before you get GR, if you like.
