Windowscale Question
How do you mean you're struggling to work out the syntax?
It looks like it's just: name,x,y,(width*scale),(height*scale),scale,colour ,z,docked,visible

I'm at work at the moment, so I can't check on the game interface itself, but if I remember correctly there should be a "Save Windows Settings" button on one of the Options Menu Tabs that would create a WDW file.
So, you could set up your windows as you wish, save the file with that button, and then edit the file if you need more fine-tuning.
Just my 2 cents.
EDIT: I believe there is also a "Load Windows Settings" button, but again, can't check this right now.

ok to clarify, I've got several windows in non-standard positions and non-standard sizes. I'd like to save those windows at their present size, and in their set location - but I'm not seeing any buttons or way to set everything exactly in the right place.
I've tried saving the file but that didn't seem to work either so I'm puzzled

I did this a while back using the /WDWSAVE command and now all my new characters start out with the same window positions.
If you're doing this now, just go to a character, get all your windows the way you want them and use the /WDWSAVE command. Then go to all your other characters and use the /WDWLOAD command.
It should be that simple. It will change your characters' window colors all to the same color though.
Check out ParagonWiki. You want the slash command /wdwsave and /wdwload . Not reason to mess with writing it out by hand. (there's also /wdwsavefile and /wdwloadfile, to explicitly name a file to save them to)

Thanks guys that seems to work. What I was trying to do was give it a name with a path and it wasn't working. But this seems to do the job so many thanks

For that, you want /wdwsavefile C:/path/to/file and /wdwloadfile C:/path/to/file... or just take the file that /wdwsave creates and manipulate that.

From my reading of the wiki, I thought there was a way to specify the path and the file name but I'm clearly wrong.
What would be cool would be to save different layouts for different toons/builds that could be loaded to meet differing needs. Is that doable?

I bet there were spaces in your path. In that case, you need to wrap the path in double quotes (so it'd look more like: /wdwsavefile "C:/Documents and Settings/Blah/City of Heroes stuff/" ).

I'm running quite a high resolution on my screen and I want to uniform my windows across my account.
I've been looking to do that using the WDW File Structure but I'm missing something. I need to set different windows to different sizes and I'm struggling to work out the exact syntax.
I have tried to create a WDW Save_file but I'm clearly not getting it right. If I'm understanding things correctly it should be possible to create a named file (but there may be issues with window positions initially) that I can load across my account.
Any suggestions?
