I generally have trouble with pets on stealthy characters, though. Not sure how you manage it with a Stalker. Grant Invisibility perhaps?
Yep. Grant Invis helps a lot.
Simply moving faster than he does is also important...

Kes usually has just enough time to line up on her target and hit it with AS (Also getting the attention of the rest of the target goon's group, with luck-) before Cardinal gets into zarking range. It's close, though, and occasionally he'll still get something's attention before she does... but I've been running them together long enough now to judge the timing pretty well.

Kestrel also having Aid Other goes a long way towards her pal's survival, too. If his AI wasn't determined to make him close into melee range so often (In spite of not having a single melee attack to his name... ) she might not even need that, really. But as it stands? Very nice to have.

I considered doing this, but I eventually opted against it, both because the game doesn't really support such power-limiting and because I can't resist the urge to use my powers. That said, I do have a couple of loose limitations I can use.

I have a couple of shapeshifters who have the bulk of their costumes (4 out of 5 planned) be humans in different outfits, and one costume which represents their monster form. Both of these characters are very strong, fast and agile in their human forms, but the girl doesn't fly in her human form for lack of wings, and the man cannot jump super-high in his human form for lack of animal legs. Both of them have access to their claws in their human forms, however.

Artegor, my vampire kinda' guy, can only really fight in his human form, and probably in his super-devil form when I get around to that. Beyond that, he also has a bat form which I try to use when he travels, as well as a mist form which must ALWAYS fly and a wolf form for which I'll use Beast run.

I did have a scientist in a suit of power armour, but when I remade him from a Blaster into a Mastermind, I decided to go the Dr. Aeon route and give him a lighter, more compact set of power armour to wear under his lab coat with an exposed head.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

The closest I've come to this sort of thing was the second character I ever made, a technology character powered by a fabulous experimental space suit with a lot of hand-waving quantum physics based abilities.

Her level thirty costume (this was before the halloween costume slot) was street clothes with only the goggles/glasses of the main suit as evidence of the space suit. Being a rad defender, this allowed her to use X-Ray beam and not much else (though I might have rationalized one or two radiation emission powers as well via gloves or something) thanks to the Cyclops-style beams from the eyes.

It was amusing for a short period but I never really did much with the idea after the novelty wore off.

I agree with other posters that this is primarily a role play gimmick that can be almost completely managed with macros and binds. Not something that I'd want to see dev time spent on, though I wouldn't begrudge a simple mechanic like the "lockout" switch. I just don't see anyone actually using it. It makes more sense to remove a power entirely from your power bar than it does to "gray it out" and leave it taking up valuable power bar real estate.

I have a character that has a different costume for each of the different ammo toggles. Let me tell you, I kind of hated having to wait 'til 30 to have the complete set. Even if I stay on Incendiary ammo most of the time.

I just remembered something I do with practically every character along these lines. All my characters have a "nice" outfit. Formal clothes, if you will. Dresses, tuxedos, things like that. I tend to not do things that could get those outfits dirty. I know that they technically can't get dirty, but those outfits are pretty much non-combat only. I even toggle on Walk with them. No running, no getting dirty, no superpowered combat. Just walking, maybe flying, around. I usually use that in Wentworths.

So when that mission in the RWZ asks for you to dress up formally, I did. I do so on every character, too. I want more missions like that. It's so nice to have missions that aren't just wall to wall enemies. Social missions can be fun.
