Welcome Back
BMT (Badges Monsters Task Forces) is the channel to join to get stuff done and to find teams. Limited (for the most part) to the topic of the channel. This is an invite only channel. @Cobalt Azurean can hook you up with an invite, if there is space. IMO this is 1 of the best channels to be in.
Champions United - Good all round channel. Good to find teams and the occasional non game related chit chat.
*channels may be at max capacity =(
As far as SG's go; Champion Server, as many will attest to, is like 1 big SG with some of us having bases just for personal storage.
Id suggest teaming with people and finding 1 that suits your wants/needs in a sg. This is more a personal pref. Some prefer QUALITY over QUANTITY (such as myself. Id rather get to know a handful of people well, over not really knowing anyone)
We have a Calendar that shows the on going daily events on the server. Its in the top sticky section of these forums. Check it often as there is always something going on. (3xs a week Hamidon Raids, RWZ Raids, Lords of War, Task Force Tuesdays, just to name a few)
We also have C.A.P.E (CHampion Association for Player Events) which is there to act as a support for people who wish to hold their own events but need some assistance in some fashion. Its a great community resource to tap into. Lots of friendly folks available to get feedback from.
If you have any further questions or need any help of any kind, posting it here would be your best bet to get a broad range of answers.
Feel free to hit me up @Cherry Cupcakes if youre in game and have an immediate question. Perhaps I can help, if nothing else I can point you in the direction of someone that may be able.
~Cherry
As far as channels go, BMT, and CU are the biggies. So big in fact that SGs are nearly obsolete on Champion. The whole server is sort of a big SG. Getting an invite for these channels is pretty easy (unless they're full). I'm sure someone here will fire you off an invite when you're in-game.
Other good channels include DarkGuard Network (not for the faint of heart); Hammer Nation and so forth.
As far as being new, there's no advice needed. All the channels mentioned above are great for getting oriented to new content and their members have a collectively encyclopedic knowledge of the game.
Root about on the forum as well; there are lots of weekly events including
+Hami Raids
+Mothership raids
+PvP kickball on Saturdays
+Lords of War (all guns and bows) teams on Fridays
+Hellfire Club (all occult toons on Wednesdays)
+Warriors Club (all melee weapons on Saturdays)
+ and lots more...
All of this gets listed on the Champion Events Calendar, which will help you plan your week In fact, starting your own event is a piece of cake as well, and the Champ community will help out with promotion by adding it to the calendar. In the past there have been GM hunts, Accolade hunts, Oro mish nights and so forth.
Just dive in and have some fun! You'll find out why we call this the Community Server.*
*or GTFO.
Guess Cherry and I were typing away at the same time. So....what she said.
I'll add you into Champions Unleashed, a new channel that can handle the overflow of the other two. welcome to Champion; if you step in anything messy, just wipe it off of your boots and drive on. Plenty of things to do over here.
"I never said thank you." - Lt. Gordon
"And you'll never have to." - the Dark Knight
Thanks for all the great tips
After a 3 year Hiatus I have decided to return, from everything I have read Champion is the "friendly" server, would definitely like to join an SG, will be a very active player again, also have 2 friends joining the game with me that will be looking for an SG, what are the best global channels to find groups? Any advice you can give me for being "new" would greatly be appreciated

Also, welcome back to the game and in particular to Champion.
"Champion (the Community Server... or GTFO) is like a small town where everyone knows each other's names, for better or worse." -kojirodensetsu.
"If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail." - Maslow's Hammer
First of all, welcome to Champion!
Secondly, as for advice, what Cherry and Shay said. I'll add for emphasis that you don't need to join an SG on Champion. Sure, there are a lot of great SGs around, but think of those as pockets of a much larger, very active community.
Please don't hesitate to send me a tell @Amygdala if you have any questions or need any help.

Welcome Back!!
And what Amy said. With CU, BMT, and any other channel you can find, IMO SG's are not necessary but are not unwanted. I'm a member of both channels and I never have an issue with finding something to do.
But here's some advice: Do not wait for it to come to you. Put yourself out there and start the teams. Mingle, meet and greet ppl in the channels when they say "goodmorning" and generally make yourself known to ppl. Help out ppl and do not hesitate to ASK for assistance when you need it.
You're right. Champions is a friendly server and it's because of the ppl in it. Enjoy!!
