I am currently working on an Electric/Energy blaster.

The goal is a super high recharge sapper build, and I really want to pick up force of nature/Charged armor.

Now since I can't color charged armor (using Green/Purple Dark Themed powers) I am leaning heavliy toward Force.

Now I want to get another aoe to suppliment Ball Lightning and Short Circuit, and I have been looking at Repusion Bomb.

While it seems decent enough from Mids, I have no experience with this power at all. Is this attack any good. Anyone have any stories they want to share with me why I should, or should not take this power?

I use it on my Sonic/Energy Blaster as an opening move. The knockdown is nice and reliable even if the stun isn't and it allows me to supplement my single cone attack with another AoE attack. Even if the damage is mediocre, it can really mitigate eating an alpha strike and adds to overall cumulative damage.

Be warned though, the animation is very long and the further away the target it, the longer it takes to get there. It's not a power you can pull out in the middle of a fight easily but it is a handy attack and very good mitigation.

In fact, I think I started a thread about it a while ago:

I hope that helps!

If the color theme works for you, Might I suggest taking a trip red side and picking up Mu Mastery? You get to add dark red to your color theme, you get that last bit of end drain in Electrifying Fences and Static Discharge, Static Discharge gives you another AoE/cone attack, and Electrifying Fences gives you a place to slot a Grav Anchor set.

Your title made me laugh,

Dante is right. It is a good opening move as it helps mitigate an alpha strike. But the key word there is "mitigate." This power hits a target, then knocks most targets in the blast radius on their behinds. For someone who could use some mitigation to avoid an alpha strike, it is a good power. But since you said you are looking for an AoE attack to suppliment your the attack chain, I would say this one is not for you.

It sounds like concept is something that is important to you, and I feel ya. It still irks me when my elec^3 blaster is shooting yellow-white blasts, but has lavender Charged Armor. I just keep reminding myself that the devs have said that they want, at some point, to make every power customizable. It is just a matter of when.

I'd say Knight's suggestion is best for what you want the powers to do. But if color is a huge deal for you (and there is no judging on this end, I totally get it) you can stick with Force Mastery. Personal Force Field, Temp Invulnerability, and Force of Nature all make the set worthwhile, so you won't gimp yourself that much, it's just that Repulsion Bomb probably won't do what you are hoping for.

I am already permahasted, and fully slotted.

I think i will go with repulsion bomb, and just use it as an opener, knock em down and drain the mobs.

Ball lightning is on a pretty short cooldown as it is.

When they allow Anncillary pool recoloring, I will respec.
