Understanding AE: Maps, Mobs, and More

I am new to AE and I've browsed the forum a bit and done some preliminary experimentation.

To start off, I want to make a really basic map with just some large, tightly clustered mobs. I guess its your basic farm map, but the goal is to eventually do more.

The map I'd really like to use is the really simple rectangular "city" map that is common in a lot of Unai Kemen's arc missions. You basically go up one side killing mobs, turn, then go back down the other side. It doesn't have a lot of obstructions so its really simple.

I couldn't find this map in the editor. Does anyone know what map this is, or how I unlock it if need be?

ALSO:

Is there a listing/database somewhere of the different mob groups you can use? I really hate CC (crowd control), so I want to try and stick to mob groups with as little of that as possible. The Infernal Demons (sometimes they are Praetorians in Harvey Maylor's arc) are a good example of this. Are there others like this?

Finally: In my own custom missions that aren't dev choice or anything like that, what is the reward penalty? Is it full xp but just less INF? What about recipe drops?

Thanks,

Sorry you've not received help so far. However, the MA community is VERY anti-farming, due to the fact that there are thousands of possibly abandoned farm maps cluttering up the database, making it harder fro people to find their stories which they've spent time and care trying to craft.

However, If you intend on doing some more serious work later on, i see no reason not to help you get your jollies out of your system.

The "rectangular farming map" is under unique maps->outdoor->City 2 or 3 i think. It's been a while, but if you DO have to unlock it, it'll cost you tickets, which you get by running other MA missions.

You cannot control how tightly cluttered a mob will be. In fact, the game has a mechanic that tells groups of mobs to start slowly spreading out.

Also, there's no real "listing". Almost every faction in the game is in the editor, if that helps. When you go to make your map, it'll ask for a primary enemy type near the top of the mission editor screen. Everything from 5th column to Longbow to Werewolves.

Note that you can make your own groups from existing mobs, but that you'll suffer an XP loss from any group that doesn't have minions, lts, AND bosses. So if you make a group of only minions, that group will only give 33% XP.

As for rewards: You'll have to PUBLISH your arc for it to give rewards. Otherwise, just running in test mode will not result in any drops at all. In addition, only XP and inf will drop from MA enemies. They will not drop salvage, recipes, or enhancements. They WILL drop "Tickets", which can be redeemed inside the AE building for prizes (which include salvage and recipes and enhancements =) )

Finally, aside from the tickets thing, as long as any custom groups have minions, lts, and at least one boss, and as long as custom critters offer 100% XP (it will tell you while selecting that critter's powers how much XP they're worth), you won't receive an XP penalty playing MA missions. MA misisons won't use "Rested" XP though (the blue bar of 1.5x XP you get when you havn't played a character in over a day).

Allied to all sides so that no matter what, I'll come out on top!
Oh, and Crimson demands you play this arc-> Twisted Knives (MA Arc #397769)

Look them up, read their powers. Also, I think when you look at each separate foe in the group listing screen inside the MA interface, their powers are mentioned as well.
