Well, what happened since Aug 2010? [Market Merge History]
Market merge went pretty well. Everyone got everything refunded to them (here's your market fees, here's a giant ton of stuff that was for sale and is now in storage on the market.) I didn't have anything riding on the market at the time, either.
MLC suffered from Fulmens Attention Disorder. I still generate a few, still buy a few, people log into MLC and do stuff, but it's not really "my" supergroup in any plausible sense.
The Crazy 88s is my new thing- also other people, who throw in a lot more influence- and I can serve both masters at once by generating midlevel recipes and selling them, then throwing the inf into the firepit.
One major thing was not so much the "day the markets merged" but "the day people could intuitively email their inf to themselves." (I wrote "safely" but gleemail does lose stuff sometimes.) Prices went up considerably due to that alone, I'm pretty sure. But went down due to Hero/villain merits. Purples are crazy.
Anyway. Welcome back!

So you think you're a hero, huh.
@Boltcutter in game.
Rare Salvage prices stayed low for a month or so after the Market Merge. I was able to stock up on a little bit of everything between 0.5-1.5 mil. They eventually settled into the 3-4 mil range. They took a dip back to 2 mil during the AE Monkey Exploit, but have returned to the 3-4 mil.
I don't play the big ticket items, but the niches that I followed had wild fluctuations after the Merge. They took a while to stabilize, but they didn't go back up to previous levels until the AE Monkey Exploit, I think. By this time, I had eased out of serious marketeering, so I wasn't following too closely. The prices did seem better when I was doing "spring cleaning" of my storage bins right before the Double XP weekend (bad timing on my part).
Teams are the number one killer of soloists.

I always blamed my failed participation in MLC on the fact that it was on Freedom and I always play on Virtue.
Now that Crazy 88's are on Virtue, I don't really have an excuse.

MLC - the supergroup on Freedom, has indeed become just an ordinary SG, with very modest activity. Many of the active characters that were level-locked are now leveling again.
MLC - the concept, seems to also have lost focus as the Incarnate system has more attention back to the upper level characters.
I will say that I work very hard to generate as many recipes in the 30-33 range as I can. Last September I kept one character locked for a month in that level range just to generate recipes (I was doing an amerit roll every day). For my most recent character, once I hit 30 I rolled all of my AE tickets (about 5,000) and did as many hero merit rolls as I could manage before I hit level 34, at which point I've just started saving merits so I can buy what I still want/need. But this is typically what I do with a new character: PL them a bit in AE, run TFs and hit up all of the zone explore badges that I can, then when I hit 30, roll everything.
So the concept itself is something I've kept alive, even if my actual MLC characters are busy doing nothing at all.

I still have 2 toons locked at 30 one hero one villian and play them once in a while... I roll all the merits and tickets that I have and place the recipes on the market below value...which reminds me I need to check to see if they have sold. I have been busy with the incarnate system on my 50's but will get back to my 30's for some fun
.
I dropped service in August and now that I'm back, I can't seem to find anything chronicling the massive explosion of something that might have happened the day the markets merged.
Was it a Y2K thing, aka nothing?
I liquidated everything before I left out of paranoia. Oddly, one of my guys had 8 crafted IOs on the market when I came back, stored, but no prices set yet.
So, did Midlevel Crisis fade away and now there's this Crazy 88?
