Level 30 Mind controller looking for stable team
First of all, welcome to CoH and Infinity!
I have a few characters in the level 30ish range that I wouldn't mind teaming up with. My two picks would be an Ice/Cold Corruptor (hero alignment) or a Force Field/Sonic Defender (also a hero). If we did something red-side then I have a vigilante Dominator that I'd be happy to exemplar with.
Best times for me are anything but Wednesday and Sunday evenings. It's generally easier for me to make afternoon/evening times, but with enough notice I can swing stuff earlier in the day.
You might also want to broadcast this info in some of the Infinity global channels. If you're not already in them, try checking out AE Anonymous (general teaming and events), Inf Badge Seeker and Infinity Badges 2.0 (both badge related, as the names imply), or even Infinity TFs (if you plan to run some task forces with the team).
Sounds good. I'm gonna be busy a lot of the next week in RL, so perhaps we can wait a week to see if anyone else is interested.
Thanks.
Works for me. I'll keep an eye on the thread.
The group is starting to come together. So far we've decided to include some light RP as a team of vigilantes, and to start playing around 8 or 9 pm CST on an unspecified day of the week. If someone wants to exemp down to 30, that's fine. We're planning to optimize the difficulty for a fairly methodical playstyle.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that we'll be playing in Paragon City.
Sounds awesome so far. Definitely like the sound of some light RP added, like you had mentioned. I'm still leaning towards my Ice/Cold corrupter, but I'm giving it a little time to stew and see what other folks are bringing to the table. Just got my main compy fixed and now my options for what I play are no longer limited by lag concerns.
We have a Mind/Emp Controller and Fire/Fire Dom for sure so far, right? Anyone else confirm that they're up for it, and what they may be bringing?
Evening play times starting around 8-9 central work for me.
So...
If no one else is interested, I guess we should pick a night. Practically anything works for me.
I'm available any evening besides Wednesday and Sunday at the moment. If you have a preference, just let me know. Otherwise... How does Tuesday/Thursday sound?
Sounds good to me.
I'm totally down too. We've spoken in game but let me throw my hat in the ring officially by saying that I have a DM/SR scrapper in that range (quickly rising) that I would be more than happy to join up with. Any day of the week/evening is good for me!

Greets! After a mild case of arm twisting, I am tossing in my hat to your RP-Light team. I have a wayward ninja looking for a home on Infinity, and will give this a try!
So, let's plan to meet this evening at 8:00 pm CST in the Police Department in Independence Port.
Sounds good. See you guys there!
So... next Tuesday, 8 pm. CST, Independence Port PD.
The Council is planning something big, but we don't know what it is yet. IC or OOC. So this would be a good place to plan that, out-of-character. What do we want to do next week?
Tonight, by the way, was tons of fun. Both the RP and missions went very well.
I had a blast too! As far as what is coming next week, I thought it might be fun to find a weapon or two that the Council is buying from Offworld. Just enough to advance the plot (but not too much). Give our intrepid heroes enough proof that he's there somewhere... but not necessarily give them any clues as to where the villain is.
An arms demonstration perhaps?

Definitely looking forward to next Tuesday! The RP was fun and I got a level, to boot.
The team was "interrupted" just before they learned exactly what Cleos found out from Archon Assunta. Following up on that could be interesting. I also like the idea of finding some sort of clue to reveal more about the weapons Offworld has, or the Council/his short term goals.
I've actually made the Offworlders as a custom group in AE. We aren't at the point in the plot to fight them in numbers, but I could make a map with Council and an Offworlder as the boss.
The big thing the Council has planned might be a major strike against the 5th Column. (Normally we'd let them fight it out, but maybe this endangers civilians.)
What do y'all think of these ideas?

Loving it. I'm always happy to see custom AE missions in a play session.
Well, we found *something*. Then Cleos left.
So, as I said earlier, I'll be away from the internet next week. Our current story-arc is wrapping up, and Ska-Core will be in charge for the next one, which will focus on Nanodrive.
I think y'all are still meeting at 8 central/9 eastern next Tuesday, but I don't know where.
The finale to Cleos' story (what he did over my spring break) will be available in an AE arc that I have in the works. It's slightly AU in that the PPD knows more about Offworld and the Council than we've implied. The player is a hero who happens to run into Cleos while investigating the Council.
We can discuss what actually happened in the 'canon version'.
Did anyone get what Archons Sartori and Quarantotto were a reference to?
I had a great time, and I'm really looking forward to next Tuesday. The AE missions Ray set up were a nice change of pace and served as a really good gateway to RP. Also, a big welcome to Agent Wolfram!
Do I still get points if I cheated to figure out the reference on the Archons? Nice easter egg there, Ray.
Oh! Here's one of the screenshots I got that night. (You can click it for a larger few.)
The pic is awesome.
The arc is up. #491402 Everything Falls Apart. It's still in revision, so it's up to y'all if you want to play it now (in which case I'd really like feedback) or wait till I have it perfect. It's intended to be played solo.
Awesome! I'll be checking out the arc ASAP.
I'm relatively new to the game. I've gotten my mind/empath controller (my second highest level character-I've got a 38 brute on triumph) to level 30 mostly by soloing and some PuGs. I've reached the point that, as long as the difficulty is manageable, soloing with this character feels like playing chess endgames repeatedly: I can get a full spawn locked down, then it's just a matter of spending forever killing them.
On the other hand most of the pick-up groups I've been in, I was sidekicked up to a much higher level, the difficulty was low enough that the team could steamroll through without really needing any controls, and I felt like a second-rate defender.
My solution is to try to put together a (smallish) team around my level that could play together on a regular basis. It would be cool to get a team of 2-4 characters that worked together consistently and could take on mobs that were too big or too high level to just steamroll through, but instead required cunning and teamwork.
If anyone is interested, let's see if we can decide on a night that we could get together on a weekly basis and run a few missions. My schedule is flexible, and since my character is a vigilante I could go either redside or blueside.
