Question regarding ATI chipset with NVidia card

I just got an HP P6727c today and was wondering if I could install my GeForce 9600 GT card in it? I don't know squat about computers but it looks like my PC has integrated ATI graphics?

Is this going to be compatible together? I'd like to play again but I don't want to just install it and see how it goes, so I figured I'd come here and see what you guys had to say.

Yep you can indeed just plug in and go. (Once you install the NVidia drivers of course)

as far as benchmarks have shown, none of the chipsets produced by ATi or AMD are known to deliberately harm the performance of a competitors graphics card. None of the chipsets produced by ATi or AMD are known to use exotic or non-standard connections.

From a hardware standpoint there are no problems putting your Nvidia card into a system with an AMD or ATi chipset.

So I set it all up and everything seems kosher, except now I get this ATI message on startup.

"The Catalyst Control Center is not supported by the driver version of your enabled graphics adapter. Please udate your ATI graphics driver, or enable your ATI adapter using the Displays Manager"

What does this mean and how do I get rid of it?

Uninstall the ATI drivers and control panel via Add/Remove programs.

The reason why it is popping up is that ATI drivers/control software will not work the NVidia stuff (and vice versa). And if i remember correctly, it loads up automatically with windows boot.

This did not seem to work.

Argh! I can't get rid of this damn thing. I even deleted all ATI threads in regedit and still bupkiss.

Well I got the popup to go away by disabling CCC from loading at startup, but obviously after all this it's still on my system somehow. Aggravating!

Did that, nothing. :/

Once its been disabled in the bios, you should have *no* issues what so ever to uninstalling the software.

Removing the reg keys manually is always a problem though, as doing that normaly borks the included uninstaller as well.

Driversweeper though should be able to pick it up and remove it otherwise.
