Weekly Strike Force Success stories!
My weekly success story has nothing to do w/how fast or smoothly the Kahn went (though it did). I ran it over the weekend for the 1st time w/a non-50. And got like 2M+ XP at the end; basically a 1/2 a level. Yeah, I totally ran it again w/all my 45+ toons who weren't 50 yet. Running out of 45-49 toons though for LG, but Sister Psyche is going to be run a lot--which is to say once each by all 31 of my alts--50s for the Notice, everyone else for the XP bonus.
Oh, Kahn marathon success story--did a mini marathon w/someone going for the badge. I switched in toons for around 6 runs in a row, non lasting much longer than 25 min. Fastest was 21--still haven't broken 20 min myself (our server record is 16 min for this past week).

I figured I'd chime in here. I'm a strange case. Been playing since the beginning but never really did any TF's other than the respec TF back when it was the only way to respec. For some reason I always figured TF's take half a day to do. In my defense, they probably did 7 years ago.
But anyway, I decided to get into the alpha stuff over the weekend, so I decided to try doing TF's. Haven't had this much fun in a long time!
So far I've done the ITF (twice) and Khan. All 3 went perfectly. The khan especially stood out, and it was a master of run. When we got to the final room, the leader told us the plan: one tank keeps reichsman taunted, and as the other AV's get released, the 2nd tank taunts them away and the team concentrates on them. When they said this, I had absolutely no idea what they were talking about, but they told me to just wait, and I'd see what they meant. Sure enough, I saw. I was the 2nd tank, and I started taunting the other AV's as soon as they got released. Everything was done to perfection. Each released AV took no more than a couple mins to kill, and by the time they were all dead, Reichsman only took a couple more mins himself. Nobody on the team even really got hurt, and we finished in 36 mins. The main tank said it was his first master of on Khan, and he seemed like he really knew what he was doing.
Quite a way to start doing TF's
This weeks All Controller Task Force on Guardian finished Khan in around 39 minutes and like last week we ran to the RWZ for an Incarnate TF but this time ran an Apex in just under an hour and all ended up with Master of Apex badges! It was an added little cherry on top none of us were expecting as really only one or two from the team were all that familiar with that TF.

Just a general all-around romp through the LGTF. With a Tanker, three Scrappers, Energy Blaster, Ill/Emp and Elec/Sonic Controllers, and a Peacebringer.
Yes, this team lacks both -Regen and AoE -KB. Yes, the Blaster AoEd and the PB used Solar Flare. And it was still fun. Hami took a little more organising than we'd been using, but we got through okay. The Honoree was a little bit of a struggle, but I think the Ill/Emp had a set of Envenomed Daggers. Anyway, once we cleared the area and all knuckled down, he dropped pretty fast.
Oh, and did I mention that my power dropped out halfway through?
And they said laptops aren't for serious gaming. Batteries FTW.
EDIT: Oh, yeah. We did wipe once, on three Riders. My fault. I forgot to tell either controller that Fiery Aura lacks fear protection, so the tank (me) spent most of the encounter either cowering or dead.
We were doing the STF. As we were putting it together, somebody remarked that we had a pretty good team, did we want to go for a "Master of" run? The consensus, was, sure, why not?
Our blaster died on the first spawn in the Web factory.
All right. Disband. Restart. Be more careful.
I played conservatively. I'm usually right in the mix of things with my dom, draining psyche like there's no tomorrow, but I don't think I entered melee once during the entire task force. We had a couple close calls, especially around Doctor Aeon, but we hadn't had a death yet as we entered the final mission.
We cleared ourselves some room to maneuver and took down the Flier. The rest of the team started in towards Recluse and I hit Enter to begin typing, "Hey, has anyone looked at the clock? I think it's been almost twenty minutes since we entered and the Flier is on that weird timer. Maybe we should wait a minute, let it spawn and take it down, rather than let it spawn on top of us when we're dealing with Recluse."
What I actually got out was, "Hey, h", because as I was typing that, the Flier spawned DIRECTLY on top of me and unloaded everything it had on top of my poor, squishy dom.
Whereupon I turned on superspeed and zipped away and thought, "Boy, good thing I had the foresight to turn on PFF first!"
So we dropped the flier, dropped the towers and dropped Recluse all in very short order, and my dom became the first of my toons to become a Master of Statesman's Task Force.
In Camazotz all are equal. Everybody is the same as everybody else.
By the end of Weakened Hamidon, our LGTF of 8 had dwindled down to 2. It was disheartening, but we stuck it out with a controller and a master mind. And still finished, of course. the best part was watching Honoree try to run away from the big bad squishies, who tore through his Unstoppable like it wasn't even on.
Actually I don't have anything BAD to report at all the past two weeks. I lost track of how many Kahn TFs I completed at around 20 with no failures and I did about 12 LGTFs with no a single failure. Along the way I manages one Master of Kahn and came SOOOOO close to another with my tank. We were perfect until the last AV sprang to life to assist Reichmann and after defeating .. I think it was Countess Crey one of the Defenders on the team go a bit too close to Reichmann when he fired off his lightning bolts and "Challenge Failed" Ah well About two minutes later Reichmann fell too and the TF was over.
I noticed Zombie Man talking about the strategy of just skipping the COT in the Thorn Tree mission of the STF.. DId that a number of times and it worked well. I also did a couple where we combined things.. killing COT and taking out vines as we went along.. that worked too.
On the Kahn TF I was on a number of teams that all but ignored the AVs as they spawned and just kept pounding on Reichmann. The ones I tanked on that went that way I'd taunt the AVs to get them close to me and then they took damage from the AoE attacks.
I think my favorite though was a recent Lady Grey. The team leader needed shards and while he left it up to the team really wanted to steam roll.. not necessarily a kill all but definately a kil; anything we see and don't shortcut too much. Well we had one player DC badly in mission one and simply disappeared never to be seen again. the Brute quit after mission one with no explanation.. The Leader did say he was the lone player that wanted a speed run so he probably left us to find one. Then we lost one more player before it was over. We let Infernia and Galacia die as most seem to these days.. GOD they talk forever and half the time the ambush arrives before they get done chatting. I WANT TO SHOOT THEM MYSELF lol Didn't have too much trouble with Hami and the 5 of us with no brute or tank managed to take down Hero one and Hro' Dtohz with no problem. I was amazed at how well it went with no aggro control and the guy that left between mission 3 and 4 was one of our heavy damage dealers. Just proves that good players can succeed on almost any mission if they know how to play their characters and how to team!
So to date I have had a grand total of two failures and a TON of success stories on the WST and that includes the 4 Sister Psyche's I already have done this week.

After reading about all the horror stories in the other thread, I feel pretty lucky. While Statesman took nearly 4 hours to complete, the rest have been surprisingly smooth.
The second week, I ended up on a Master of Kahn where we lost our tank in the first mission. We decided to go on and see what happens with just 7 of us and I would tank with my brute. I was a little nervous as it was my first Kahn (and I had heard the horror stories), but, I hadn't dropped 2 billion inf into that toon for nothing. We did fine and finished without any troubles.
Lady Grey was the same story. By the second mission we were down to 3 people, I took over tanking (on my brute again) and we sent the Honoree packing. And yesterday, I joined a team for a speed Sister Psyche and have never felt so unnecessary as a brute/tank before. There were only 5 of us but they cut through those mobs like a hot knife through butter and we finished in just over an hour.
Nothing too remarkable. Did two Kahns this week, both under 40 minutes. On the second one the Cold Defender (who had been great at keeping the buffs up on us) complimented me for taunting the AVs together so they all got debuffed. I felt bad for not complimenting him as well afterward, but it's been a while since I had even had to consider complimenting a buffer.
Two Kahns and got a notice from both, one more to go until I can get my very rare suckers! How's that for a success.
