Evil Empath Defender? How would this work from an RP Perspective?

Ive been role-playing an empathy defender, Amadeus Weaver, who has used his power of healing to indefinitely extend his lifespan to the point where he's roughly 2000 years old. He was living a carefree life until the police found out about one of his schemes, learned of his capabilities, and gave him the choice of serving the city instead of going to the Zig.

Now recently, I've taken this character over the deep end and gone evil. Though i plan on finishing his story with him comfortably in the rogue alignment, making money with clever scams, schemes, or businesses that only an immortal could possibly profit from , there's still the question of what to do for this intermediary step; how would a clever man who (though he's plenty greedy and selfish) cant do much anything but heal peoples wounds, ever work as a villain?

All answers, creative solutions, questions, and thoughts on this RP dilemma are welcome!

What's his Secondary, if you don't mind my asking?

Sam: "My mind is a swirling miasma of scintillating thoughts and turgid ideas."
Max: "Me too."

Dual Pistols. He only started carrying them when he was effectively forced into hero work after his bank/interest scams were discovered, because he didnt trust those "spandex-wearing imbeciles" to be competent enough to defend him while he did his job.

Not skilled enough in them for him to be a real threat though; his pistol skill doesn't go very far past firing intimidating shots or trying to force enemies to take cover with a hail of bullets. Amadeus has next to no aim .

Here's an example:
Misterevilempath strolls the streets of Oakes, Martial or where-ever-else, looking for his next victims. Possibly through a little trickery or through simple luck, he finds schmucks on the end of their rope*. After very slowly getting them to sign something- maybe a magical contract- he heals them up and now has a new minion or contact. VoilĂ !
He eventually builds of a army of underlings and sits behind the scenes like some sort of (metaphorical) mastermind.
Dual pistols? He can threaten to torture them if they don't sign!
*(Dieing!)

First off, love it! Though Amadeus likely wouldn't go as far as killing and resurrecting multiple times (well, he wouldn't do it too many times), i think the contract idea is a good one. Of course it might make him seem a bit like the Devil, but i already subtly imply that in his bio anyway.

Problem is, before he decides that money is all that matters and becomes a rogue, what should he be using this theoretical army for? He needs some sort of master plan to pursue and eventually get bored of. His main motivation is really just boredom, and as a healer, he doesnt have many options for class-related schemes.

Revenge? He knows full well that it was his fault he got kicked out of Paragon, and it was getting boring being a hero anyway.

Power? he's immortal, he watched the aztec empire fall, all the power in the world didnt help them; Amadeus sees that everything's temporary, and conquest wouldn't last long before getting boring....

Just for the Evulz? He's never been sadistic (at worst, he's sadistically snarky), and the only reason he was ever stuck on the Rogue Isles was cause he got a little greedy trying to brainwash Overdrive. he wouldnt really care about suffering enough to inflict it....

I've got a method now (thanks by the way!), but I still need a motivation...

You're welcome. Let's go through some stereotypicals:
- Everyone is stupid. They really are. At least, he thinks so! He wants to get a hand in as many organizations as possible to change and fix them. Depending on his nature, this could be anything from educational systems to government. Maybe he wants to change the regime from the inside- in the sneaky sort of way!
- On a similar note, certain, specific people are really stupid! He wants to put together some MASSIVE convoluted scheme to get a lot of them in the same place by infiltrating their organizations with his various contacts and underlings. Then he wants to blow them up.
- Maybe he's paranoid. Really paranoid. Like, Omahgawd the zombie apocalypse is coming!- paranoid. He wants an armed guard of contacts and underlings to save his butt and build up his shelter.
- Maybe he wants to be -rich- for the first time in his long life. All these contacts in these businesses, government, etc would certainly help with that. He could even make straight deals with people he 'saved' to give him money and continue paying for their life to continue!

Go crazy. The very last one could lead him into being a Rogue.

Alright, perfect! He could believe that the best way to ensure his future saftey and success is to get rid of potential hazards, like the many whom he considers to be hopeless idiots. He'll start a corporation or orginization as a false front to this end, and his switch to rogue will trigger when he realizes his fake business is actually really successful! then he'll just decide to get incredibly, filthy rich. add a touch of paranoia, and ive got a recipe for perfect disaster!

Thank you very much for your help, and @guy above the quoted post, good point about Linderman from heroes. didnt even think about him

I think I summed all of that up in one word, Linderman.

But in all seriousness, try to think of how bad life would suck for an empathy healer. How requests you would get from all over the world to heal some parents' dying children. You would never keep up. And if you tried to keep up eventually you would suffer a nervous break down.

Yep, and imagine if you were tricked into healing a future arch-villain, and bear the responsibility and condemnation of the whole world. It would be totally reasonable to be like, "screw other people, I'll just focus on myself from now on".

"You see these" figure holds out guns in a patch of moonlight "Give me the power of death."

The guns are pulled out of the light, rejoining their owner in the shadows.

"Anyone can own a gun, but me..." the figures hands glow with power "I've got the power of life as well."

"So life and death right, that more or less makes me a god right? So why should I pay attention to the laws of man? I've got the power to take what I want, so I will."

"It doesn't make me a bad person, I've never killed anyone. Yeah I've put bullets into security guards, but I always heal them just enough that they won't die, course I'm not dumb enough to heal them enough so they can get any smart ideas about tackling me."

"So I get my money and everything is golden. Sure a couple of guards might have to retire from their injuries, some of the staff and customers might need counseling but hey... that's what insurance is for! I mean it's not like any one died right?"

I have only one word to say to this passage; "Nice!"
