Why is the trial version crashing...?

Boot Camp isn't emulation. An Intel Mac is a fully Windows-compatible computer; Boot Camp is basically a bootloader that lets you install a copy of Windows alongside a copy of MacOS.
Just to make sure, you were running the Mac version under OSX, Snow Leopard?
And I can't recall who it s that was the Mac Guru-type in the tech help section.

The OP is running the windows version. Natively in windows. Ignore the mac stuff please, I think it's just confusing the issue. Just pretend he/she's got a dell or something because that's what it amounts to.
Yes but before the Mac version CuppaManga fielded questions about running under BootCamp as well.
