Mace Blast
If you're predominantly using Mace Blast attacks, you're by definition not playing a Huntsman ... you're playing a Bane.
I've specc'd into an all mace blast bane before just for giggles. It's actually kind of unique and fun, seeing as it's the only option if you wanted a character to wield a "power staff".
Don't expect to be outperforming melee bane or huntsman builds, but it isn't really "gimped" either as far as thematic builds go.

I've thought about a gimp build with just Bane and Mace Beam attacks. It's going to be slow as hell with each attack taking 2s. Base damage is low and it has knockbacks. So it's like playing a gimped version of Energy Blast?
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
Excellent, thanks for the info!

I haven't tried it but looks like Mace Beam Blast from patron has a bit higher base damage but recharges in 9s. 9s isn't bad considering every other attack takes 2s. lol
So the gimped range-bane will have: Mace Beam 1, Mace Beam 2 and Poisonous Ray as single target chain.

I was wondering if anyone had experimented with a Bane mace blast build. There are a fair number of blasts in there to make for an attack chain, but having no formal experience with late-game Soldier, I'm not certain if it works out well, or if you wind up eating floor.
On a similar note, what about a Huntsman build using Mace Blast attacks?
