I'm planning on rolling a DP/EM at some point. I really like running on single AT teams. I'm not too hot on the graphics on /EM but with DP, getting a boost to secondary effects of attacks and increase range, I just have to.

I actually rolled one a while back but the name was horrible so I deleted her.

Are these every two weeks?

Last night was the best turnout we've had so far. We were able to run a full 8 man team of DP only, and the result was sheer destruction. We rolled through Moonfire with very few deaths, and completed the TF in just over 1 hour. It was a glorious thing to behold, indeed. Later in the evening, three of us met back up and ran through Posi part 1 again with a three man DP team since Brave Starr missed it the first time around. Tha presented quite a challenge, but we completed it with only one team wipe on the final mission.

We meet every Thursday night at 7:00 PM central time. We've been running for about 6 weeks now and have completed both parts of Posi, Synapse, Sister Psyche, Citadel, Moonfire, and both parts of the doppleganger story arc in Talos. Most of the team are in the level 30-40 range and we are always looking for new folks to join. We do, however, tend to run task forces every week which are of course level restricted. On the schedule for next week is the Manticore TF which is lvl 30-35. We would love to have you both along, provided you are in level range come next Thursday.

Not sure if you're planning to do full cycle, but I'll check the schedule, if you post it here, and start a new one a week before the next Posi run.

Tonight, Thursday March 31st at 7:00 PM Central Time, we will be running The Manticore Task Force (Lvl 30-35) in Brickstown. Time to bust up some corporate lackeys!

Yet another fantasticly successful DP night. The Manticore Task force presented very little in the way of challenge. We took our time to pump every corporate crony full of lead and finished the TF in just over an hour.

Next week's weekly strike target is once again the ITF, and this time, all of the regular dualies are lvl 35+ so we will be taking a "shot" at Rommy and his buddies next week.

I dinnae think I'll be able to make it to tomorrow's team.

That's too bad Crow...we need our core group for this week's ITF I am afraid with the new shiny trials and incarnate hoopla, that we will have a small turnout. Either way, we will give it a shot.

Tonight, Thursday April 7th at 7:00 PM central, we will be ruinning the Imperious Task Force in Cimerora (lvl 35+).

Well we pulled it off: The dual pistols ITF. We had a couple rough patches, mostly when we got separated from each other. But, it was certainly fun.

The Kheldian boss spawn wiped us out at the temple at the end of the first mission. (Though in all fairness, I've seen this happen occasionally with various teams.) But walking back up the temple hill and taking it back step by bullet-riddled step is something that I'll remember for quite a while. Good times!

Indeed, we had a great time. After the first mission things moved much more smoothly. The fight with Rommy was a little frustrating only because the coward kept running away. After running all of the Freedom Phalanx TFs (excluding Numina) and Moonfire, the ITF was the first task that gave the DP team a real challenge. Good times and can't wait for next week when we will take on the brand new Admiral Sutter TF. Meet in Independence Port Thursday at 7:00 Central.

Tonight, Thursday April 14th at 7:00 PM central time, we will be running the Admiral Sutter TF in Independence Port. This is the first time I've run this new TF so it should be good fun.

Well, that was certainly an experience. If you have not run the new Admiral Sutter TF I highly recommend it. What I would not recommend, however, is doing it with a team of all dual pistols. Yeah, we succeeded, but not without our fair share of frustration, death, and confusion.

All kidding aside, we had a great time taking on our biggest challenge yet. The Sutter TF is a well designed and just plain fun bag of exp debt. Thanks to all you dualies for sticking it out and staying with it, even when it looked hopeless.

After the TF I found myself in awe of what this team is capable of. It is amazing what a team of good, smart, and light hearted players can accomplish, even when using a powerset that is considered weak by most people. My dualie, Cobalt-Cowboy hit level 40 last night, and it has been a fast ride. At this pace I'll be looking at 50 in no time!

Next week, we seek to complete our Task Force Commander Badge as we tackle the Numina Task Force in Founders Falls (lvl 35-40). See you there!

Tonight, Thursday April 21st @ 7:00 PM Cental time we will be running The Numina Task Force in Founders Falls. This is the last of the six Freedom Phalanx task forces, and for those who have made it every week, it will complete your Task Force Commander accolade.

Also, I need suggestions on where to go from here. A couple folks have mentioned the possibility of going vigilante and heading over to red side to fight our way through all of the SFs, and I like that idea. We also haven't run any of the Ouroboros TFs, which while the Merit Rewards are pretty anemic, the TFs themselves are, in my opinion, some of the best in the game. Below I have listed the hero side TFs that we have not run so far. The team is, for the most part, in the lvl 40ish range as far as I know.

The MegaMech Cometh from Ernesto Hess in Striga Isle (lvl 25-30)
Smoke and Mirrors from Twilight's Son in Ouroboros (lvl 25-34)
The 5th Column Overthrow fromMender Lazarus in Ouroboros (lvl 30-39)
Explorers and Exploiters from Dr. Quarterfield in The Shadow Shard (lvl 40-45)
The Legend of Ruladak from Sara Moore in the Shadow Shard (lvl 40-50)
The Saga of Faathim from Justin Augustine in the Shadow Shard (lvl 44-50)
The Saga of Lanaru from Faathim the Kind in the Shadow Shard (lvl 44-50)
The Statesman Task Force from Statesman in Idependence Port (lvl 45-50)
The Lady Grey Task Force from Lady Grey in Rikti War Zone (lvl 45-50)
Return of the Reichsman from Dr Kahn in Founders Falls (lvl 45-50)
Trading Places from Mender Silos in Ouroboros (lvl 46-50)
Alpha Strike from Apex in Rikti War Zone (lvl 50)
The Praetorian Offensive from Tin Mage Mark II in Rikti War Zone (lvl 50)

After two consecutive weeks of tough challenges from the ITF and Sutter, the ease of last night's Numina was a welcome break. I'm pretty sure Jurrasik died in about the time it takes me to tie my shoe. If I recall correctly, three of us managed to finish our TF Commander accolade. Unfortunately, I didn't get much in the way of suggestions for our next challenge. Part of me wants to just tackle each Weekly Strike Target for the bonus merits and XP boost. Thoughts anyone?

Well, dual pistols night is upon us again, but I am having a hard time "pulling the trigger" on what we should do. Part of me says we should go for the WST Respec Trial for the bonus XP, but a larger part of me says that I don't want to sit in that damn reactor room for half an hour. Today marks the 7th anniversary of CoH, and there are some dev-spondered events happening at the same time we normally meet up for DP night. The idea of skipping this week so folks can enjoy the anniversary shenanigans seems like a good idea, but at the same time...I want to shoot at stuff. I need some help here folks.

The idea that seems most attractive to me is side switching and doing some redside stuff. This would require everyone to switch to at least Vigilante. Brave Starr and I have already made the switch, and if no one else objects to such a move, we can run some Vigilante tips tonight to get everyone else redside compatible.

Executive Decision: Tonight we will take a TF break and run Vigilante Tip Missions and any other general gun slinging fun we can get into. Meet up on the dirt hill in Talos Island at 7:00 PM central time.

This week, we are going to press the pause button on our descent in to villainy to run The Citadel Task Force since a couple of our regulars missed it the first time around. See you all on Thursday.

We will be metting in Talos Island tonight at 7:00PM Central to run The Citadel Task Force. See you there!

Edit: Time permiting after we complete Citadel, we will hop over to Striga to run this week's WST The Moonfire Task Force.

It was a great night for dual pistols. At about the half way point of the Citadel TF, we decided to turn up the heat a bit. We tried +2 for a couple missions, and the challenge was still minimal. So for the back stretch we cranked it up to +4x8 to really see what we could handle. We hit a few tough spots, but all in all, it was a very successful and challenging run. We even got a celebratory screenshot after we took down Vandal, and quieted a Rikti Invasion in Talos.

From left to right: Aestra, Vigil Ante Up, Operative Clive, Cobalt-Cowboy, Crow Seven, and BraveStarr. Not Pictured: Mary Snow White.

After the team broke up, Three Kronos Titan GMs spawned in Talos Island. this is the second week in a row this has happened following DP night. Perhaps Malta is scared?

Considering that you could make a Dual pistol blaster, corrupter, defender, and mastermind (thugs are the two guns that started it all!) it seems that you could make a pretty decent repeat offenders style team that can handle even the mastery of TFs.

What are the secondaries that you have seen the most often with dual pistol characters?

I have been mulling over making a dual pistol/traps corr, would you suggest that that is the greatest idea ever?

Posted

We generally see more defenders and corruptors than we do blasters. Aestra and Crow Seven are the blasters of the team. Vigil Ante Up is a traps/DP defender and his contribution to the team is very significant. I am a corruptor junkie, so when that is an option, I will always recommend corruptors (see sig). BraveStarr is a DP/Therm corr. My toon, Cobalt-Cowboy is a DP/Kin corr. If you roll up a dualie on Freedom, let me know and you can join us anytime.

Just wanted to remind everyone that this week, we will begin our run of the villain side strike forces, so run those vigilante tips if you haven't aleady. If you are not vigilante, rogue, or villain, you will not be able to join us. This week's WST is the Virgil Tarikoss Strike force (lvl 15-20), so we will be starting there this Thursday. If you would like some help running vig tips this week, shoot me a tell or post below and I will happily bring an alt to help you out.

Tonight we will be meeting at 7:00 PM Central time in Cap Au Diable to run the Virgil Tarikoss Strike Force (lvl 15-20). You must be a vigilante, rogue, or villain to join.

Good fun last night on our first red side strike force. The turnout was a bit low, but that was to be expected on the first villain night. Next week, we will continue on red side and tackle the new Mortimer Kal Strike Force in Sharkhead Isle.
