3D Model of Atlas

I am looking for a 3D model of the Atlas statue in Atlas Park in one of the following formats: VRML, OBJ, OFF, DXF, PLY or STL. Does anyone know if one has been made? Or if there isn't an existing one does anyone know how to make one?

Thanks!

You can check sites like Turbo Squid to see if anyone is selling a stock model that would fit your needs. Something might even be available through Poser or Daz studio. To make one, you would have to model it in a 3d package (ZBrush, Maya, 3dStudio Max, Lightwave, Blender, etc.).

I don't need it too detailed, I actually want to make the statue in Minecraft on a server that I will be setting up, so if it is very detailed it will be reduced when made of blocks. I found a program that will convert a 3D image into plans to build it and wanted to try it with something from COHV.

I've made a model of the whole Atlas Plaza area, including the statue, but it uses bought items, so I don't think it's allowed to pass them on.
I was thinking that if you were doing a normal picture and needed the statue for like the background, then I could have rendered it for you.

Since you're combing two of my favorite games... I'll make you one. How detailed would you actually like it? I assume it'll have to be less than 128 minecraft blocks tall for it's final version, yes? So less detailed than the in-game model? The less detail you want, the faster I'll be able to have it done. Although, I probably won't get a chance to do it until Saturday. School comes first and all that.

That would be awesome! I am pretty sure the program I was looking at can downgrade the detail to the block count, so don't worry about making it blocky. I am probably going to start the base at about sea level, but its possible I could make it larger if I were to make a crater for it or something. 128 is the max from top to bottom? Probably wont go any more than 2/3s that, so like 90 or so I guess. When its built it would be nice to be able to somewhat easily distinguish Atlas's arms, head, and body from the globe.

Thanks, theres no rush by the way, I still need to get around to preping an old laptop for a server and figuring out how to set one up before I try to do this, but I may try a smaller version in one of my existing worlds. I have school and work to worry about as well, but whenever I get to finishing it I will upload a pic.

Yeah, I'm familiar with the program used. Well, not too familiar, but I know what it is as I have seen it described on the minecraft forums.

And I wasn't referring to making it blocky, more about what details to keep in. Should I make it like the first, second, or third head in this image: http://www.rickymujica.com/post/joli...rogression.jpg ? Or in between 2 and 3? Also, that's not my work. Just a quick google search to get an example. My work's at www.ediblepoly.com if you want to see what I can do.

And no, GG. Usually I don't take requests, but DF is doing something I like with it. Considering that I'm currently using educational software and it's illegal for me to make a profit from it, this means that anything I do for someone else will be gratis. So unless I like what's going to be done with my work, I'm not gonna be handing it out.

Aww, ok - I was looking for something like Statesman's faceplate as an .obj file - I've not managed to teach myself that part of 3D modelling yet

Ah, I gocha. I think for the size that I am making it the second would probably work fine, I mean just looking at this screencap, the statue itself isn't too much more detailed anyway: http://www.cityofheroes.com/game_inf...ens/Atlas1.jpg
