EverWar - great new arc
So, it IS a farm?
Craft your inventions in AE!!
Play "Crafter's Cafe" - Arc #487283. A 1 mission, NON-COMBAT AE arc with workable invention tables!
I did not finish this arc due to problems within the structure of the arc itself. I ran this with my new tank. He is a level 28 fire/fire tank running at -1/4 with bosses and no AV's.
The map was kind of interesting at first with the huge variety of mobs thrown together in groups. A big mix of standard enemies along with custom ones in fairly large groups standing around along with groups patrolling the area. I also saw several mob vs. mob fights but it was hard to tell what was going on in some instances because the map is the extremely huge broken city/half under water one. So you would see NPC chatter about the fight before you really ever got to it.
The other problem is that some bosses did not give XP, after a pretty long fight. The doppelganger demon bosses seemed to be especially resistant to me but that was probably due to me being a fire tank. I didn't notice this until fighting my third or fourth one about the missing XP though. Other custom critters seemed to be on the low side for XP also...
Maybe if the XP is fixed for the bosses and the map could be tweaked to be a tad smaller this might be more enjoyable...

First of all- great feedback. Thanks for taking the time to post some useful and actionable comments.
More XP!!
XP bumped up to at least 80% for all customs (making them harder, as well).- mostly 90-100%.Less NPC dialog
Cut out half of the patrol dialog to reduce chatter.Misc Changes
There are a couple of regular AV's so I can't change the XP (but should be high anyway)
Only one doppel-demon now
I decided to take a small break today and check out your arc, Elcadar. I figured that since it was only one mission long, I would be able to give some useful feedback. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish the arc for reasons listed below.
While I think that the concept of the arc is fine, I think there are a lot of problems (most of them common to new AE Arc Creators) that should be addressed. Some of them are simple, like giving the contact for the arc a description or making sure all of the custom characters in the arc itself have descriptions. Other problems involve the map itself (looking for many clues in the large outdoor map chosen for the only mission in this arc is the main reason I was unable to finish it), and the lack of a story-related reason for certain elements in the arc (for example, why am I searching for magical artifacts and weapon caches when my character is already well prepared to fight in this "arena")? The only detail I really liked in the arc was the fact that the bosses had lines of dialog, so I knew when I was close to one.
Overall, I think that the concept of this arc could work as a starting point for a story, but I think the execution suffers from a lack of experience with the AE system; and that's fine, I know I had to refine and rewrite my first arc many times before I was satisfied with it.
I would suggest you visit PoliceWoman's Thread and play through some of the arcs listed there. It would go a long way to improving your AE skills, and would help you a lot more than what I could write in this post.
Whether you decide to take or leave my advice, it's always nice to see new AE authors using the MA system for story-telling purposes. Good luck!
Supplemental Galactic Protectorate Fanfic
yes, the story is weak. And it really isn't an arc, yet. It's more an experiment- I wanted to get a wide variety of bad guys thrown into one place and have interesting and varied battles no matter what level you are. That succeeded. The weapons and artifacts are more for you to run around and hit the various patrols and fight more (EverWar!). The theme, if anything, was more, more, more.
Now that I can make what I want to happen with the gangs (and better XP for custom critters), it is on to better stories. I've played several of the guest writer ones, and they are impressive. Mine won't be that good, but hopefully fun because of an EverWar spin. EverWar will be the core of a 'franchise' of arcs, if you will.
ps- I really like the sunken city map, but it is large, especially when you find there is a second island in the north yet to explore.
I've written a new story- "EverWar- Zombies" (#485176). It is a 3 mission arc and I would love feedback. Thanks.
Try out EverWar- id 482053.
What is it? A group of the worst bad guys (tuned to your level) all thrown together and fighting it out. Roving hordes of zombies, ancient romans, robots, and martians. A giant monster and bosses/arch-villains galor.
This ain't your daddy's farm.
