Nvidia 266.58 driver
Haven't put it on yet. It's mostly for the new 500 series cards.
However, it might be an idea to indicate which card you are using.

Heya Zep!
I have been playing with these drivers since they came out, and I have not noticed any significant change (not for the worse, not for the better). Since they implemented it, I always click on the "right installation" box in the nVidia installer (I don't tinker much with game profiles anyway). I don't know if that's what you mean with a clean install. I suggest you to try this or use Drive Sweeper.
If not, you can always go to the previous drivers release (260), they were the first to be very stable and sort many of my problemes with CoH.
I hope you can fix it!

I have a gtx 580.
The newer driver packages from Nvidia come with a 'clean' option in the installer.
I just noticed it had set the option back to multi-display performance mode. I just put it back to single display performance mode. That may be the difference right there.
yeah i do like their new installer. will wipe the old drivers but leave your profile in there if you want it to.
Running GTX460 1Gb and a GTX 260 768Mb (Core 216) both cards run CoH without issue.
Combat Kangaroos, Justice Server. First 50's
Jirra Roo Plant/Storm/Stone/Musculature Controller
Combat Kangaroo Rifle/Energy/Mace/Spiritual Blaster
Kung Fu Kangaroo Martial Arts/Reflexes/Body/Spiritual Scrapper

I just updated my Nvidia drivers last night and I am still getting 31 FPS or so just like I did with 260.99 with my GTX 260.
Has anyone else taken a hit to game performance with this driver?
I am goign to try a clean install and see what happens. With everything maxed out (literally) at 1920*1200 2x aa 2x af I was able to get playable frame rates (for me in this game 15-20 fps) After the driver install I am getting 5 fps in some out door zones. Just me or has anyone else dropped performance with this driver? |
H: Blaster 50, Defender 50, Tank 50, Scrapper 50, Controller 50, PB 50, WS 50
V: Brute 50, Corruptor 50, MM 50, Dominator 50, Stalker 50, AW 50, AS 50
Top 4: Controller, Brute, Scrapper, Corruptor
Bottom 4: (Peacebringer) way below everything else, Mastermind, Dominator, Blaster
CoH in WQHD
I am loving these drivers. My frame rate went up a bit, and I even see a bit more detail in the game.

I've got an interesting problem... the installer is NOT letting me install either the new drivers, or any of my old ones.
Edit: Never mind... restarted my system before trying again, worked like a charm.
I did have less performance at first, I too have a 580. Since getting frustrated I uninstalled drivers and deleted the NVIDIA folder that held other drivers, rebooted and reinstalled with a clean install and had good performance since then..
i5 750 4.0ghz
EVGA stock gtx 580
8gb 2000mhz
24" monitor full resolution
shadows Ultra/maxed
Ambient Occlusion is set to Ultra ( not maxed internally)
other settings maxed except world detail 100%
Note * I have exceptional performance in Praetoria comparatively to the "old Cov" zones
Don't be a mindless farm toon, we may need you on a non-soft SF someday. =)
