Could anyone give me a few hints on how to solo Trapdoor on a fire/ice tank? It's become a matter of priciple that I do it. Thanks in advance.

I soloed him on my SD/Axe tank by loading up on red inspirations. Soon as he was the last mob on the map, hit a few of them to max out my damage, pounced, wailed, jumped off him onto clone, lather, rinse, repeat.

On characters that can't both survive an EB's assault for long, and deal enough damage to overcome the regen his copies give him, I have two strategies;

1: whenever the message that he's making a copy appears, go kill it.

2: Pull him into the lava. As a fire/* tank, this is should be about as damaging as a caltrops patch for you (not so much for Trapdoor). But if the damage is still an issue, you can get him near the edge so you can pound him while he's in the lava, but you aren't.

Beyond that I only have general advice that applies to any EB; if you can tank his damage, load up on red insps. if not? bring some purples with you too.

Useful temp powers; Envenomed Dagger (found easily for cheap at WW/BM), Shivan, warburg nukes, if you have the vanguard merrits, the HVAS...

If you've slotted both of your shields to the ED cap for resistance, or took Temperature Protection, you have 90% Fire resistance. That means the lava does 10 times more damage to Trapdoor than you. So try and stand in the lava. It might help to try and taunt the clones in, too. The lava can kill them off with under two seconds of animation.

I haven't tried this post-buff (Trapdoor's regeneration was originally a fair bit lower) but it was fairly simple back then with my fire/fire tank.

The clones can't move unfortunately.
