Speed RWZ Challenge

So I did the RWZ Challenge on my SS/FA Brute. Didn't really think I was gonna be able to pull it off. Packing 39% S/L defense and 16% E/N defense, thought for sure I was gonna eat it quick. DN might have helped on it a bit who knows. Anyways, 1st try and I manage to pull it off. Took me roughly a minute and 30 seconds from the moment I aggro to the last hit. Might have been faster if the Pylon didn't decide to join in.

Video!!!

I know it's on a Brute... But it's on a Fire Armor Brute!!! So that should count for something right
So here I ask....

Just how fast could you do the RWZ Challenge???

I haven't yet, but I believe I can do it in two minutes on my Fire/Shield. I was ALMOST done with the one run I did when One with the Shield crashed. Took a little while to toggle back up and finish the job, so it probably ended up closer to 2:30. My plan was to go back at some point and get a run under 2:00 with persistence and post it. But you beat me to the RWZ Challenge Speed Run punch, and there's no way I'll get down to 1:30 anyway. So good job.

(Edit: Oh, and my Fire/Shield is a concept build. So I'm sure other Scrappers can do it faster and more reliably than I can. I was just hoping to get a RWZ Challenge Speed Run meme going and see just how fast people could go. Guess we think alike.)

I doubt I could reach 1:30 either. That brute of yours is really impressive.

Iggy... I really *HATE* you!

Hate in this case means admire and respect. Everytime I do something, you top it!

Congratulations!

Well to be honest, I didn't really go in to that thinking how fast I could finish it off. I barely survive that one as you could probably tell. I really didn't think the build could pull it off, but I guess damage count for something
Gonna have to do a few more just to make sure it wasn't all luck.

I didn't expect to survive mine either - I have no heal, and merely passable regeneration. So I didn't even record it. And it's why I'm kind of dreading how many tries this is likely to take. So I'm just grinding shards and pretending I don't have a task to do.

That is a very fast time, what makes you able to generate that much AoE damage? Rage, FE, FS, Burn?

OK, I sucked it up and hit the Rikti War Zone.

1:40 on my Fire/Shield, Turiel

For some reason the sound didn't record and my fire sword doesn't show up. Perils of recording from a demorecord. I'll have a new computer very shortly, and maybe will finally be able to take decent movies with the full user interface and all that. I'll probably try to repeat at that point and dump the current lame video. But hey, at least I have video documentation.

Now, Turiel is a concept build - all sword attacks in melee, and flight. And I needed the endurance alpha to power the flight. I suspect a Fire/Shield more optimized for damage with either the damage or recharge alpha can beat Iggy's Brute's time. Electric/Shield maybe? Whatever it takes.

Go Scrappers go!!!

Now I'm thinking of adding Dark Obliteration for a bit more aoe damage. Didn't really think I needed at the time... but hmmmmmm.... maybe.

And Blazing Aura... that should cover all

Well it looks like I'm topping off at 50 seconds on a few more runs.

My Claws/Ele running FU-Evis-Spin on a tightly packed bosses could only manage 2:20. His build however does not have any purples.

The best I have managed on my ss/elec/soul is slightly under 120. This was before the brute rebalance

Now i either get lucky and win right before the 120, rage drop or have to wait until right after.

Thanks guys!!!

I think I figured out how to squeeze in Dark Obliteration without changing too much. Gonna be without the slow resists IO and SJ, but I think I can live with that. It should add a bit more damage or at the very least, the -tohit on it should help me some. And now to come up with another bill or so....
