Thinking about it....
Hello and welcome to the game Are you part of any global channels? These are channels in which players are constantly in contact with eachother no matter what character or server they are on.
If not, the three main channels you should join are Union Chat, Sals Badgehunters and Union Taskforce.
With the increase in things to do in the last year or so for high level characters, a lot of people no longer tend to just "hang around" atlas park but are instead constantly in teams or just chatting over the channels. Also a lot of new characters start off in the new starting zone in Praetoria.
Population numbers in Union have gone up and are at a good level now, however it can seem empty if you arent part of the channels i agree [always a lot of people on recruiting or just talking all the time on them], so if you would like i can quite easily show you around or invite you to teams/those channels
If you are on tomoz, i will be ingame from 9am until midday so post on here when and what character you'll be on and i'll come find you
Edit: Also feel free to message me on here if you have any questions
@Damz Find me on the global channel Union Chat. One of the best "chat channels" ingame!
Hey thanks for the reply, I went ahead and got the complete collection, I'm now runnng around as a gunslinging lightning fellow by the name of Ecliptica Lightning, I tired to join Union Chat but got no reply unfortunately but am willing to talk to a good few people.
Cheers
Ecliptica
Union Chat is free-to-join and not a private channel that you need an invite for.
Welcome to Paragon City Eliptica, looking forward to seeing you on-duty.
The EU servers don't have nearly the volume of the US servers. It's challenging but can be managed easily. Just post in here a few hours before you play(1 day is preferred). Post what you want to do and users will look for you. I always check before I go online.
The lower volume is nice because you won't experience massive lag like on NA servers. I can actually do main events and their fun here :-)
I'm on Defiant but I'm moving my characters to Union because Defiant has too low user volume for me to maturate my characters quickly. I should be on Union by the Double XP weekend. Look me up, Stoica Attitude(Villain Mastermind) or Bruxelles Attitude(Hero Scrapper), Europa Atitude(Hero Dominator).
Just FYI, if your serious about this game, you'll have to plan your game time. Not everyone has the same "attitudes" and planning let's you get the best and most committed players. Some of these missions are long and to have someone quit in the middle is frustrating. Nothing like doing the 6 hour Quaterfield mish and having someone or a few quit in the middle :-)
Plus the young people don't read the boards so for the most part, you'll get higher quality here than in the real-time.

Welcome to the game Ecliptica.
To join a channel, simply type the following " /chan_join "Union Chat" "
The formula is /chan_join "insertnameofchannelhere"
This will work for all three channels that Damz mentioned.
To make certain you have the channel activated (sometimes it can be deactivated) right-click on Tab, check channels (a new window will pop up with a left and a right bar), make certain all channels you want to have activated are on the left side, then click ok.
Now the following only works if your a paying user, not a trial account.
Sadly due to plenty of spammers (gold sellers yewww) there has been put a lot of restrictions on the trial account.
You could however click "Team" and make certain your looking for team and write in the team window "Trial account Please invite".
This will tell us that you are on trial and looking for adventure and thus we can team you
I hope you will find the game a great one, I know I did. Remember the trial do not show you the entire experience, but if you love the trial... your going to love the game

I should add this. I have an NA account but wanted to play with EU people. I'm new to this side so I'm not an expert on how things work here. My comments are based on my experiences on NA servers. I joined because these servers are in the US now and the latency is low for me.
Well you got plenty of good points Residentx.
Lots of action happen through the global channels (on EU). As Damz said, the most used are the three: Sals badgehunters, Union Taskforce & Union Chat.
However if your unable to join them, (due to trial account limitations), I'd advice writing in the team window (click team window and write "Trial Account, please invite") and I'm certain Damz or another noble soul will team with you
Playing at the evenings will give you more players to play with, approx 7pm CET (6pm GMT) and beyond.

I'm really enjoying the COH trial atm but I can't help but notice the very few players around in Atlas City and Galaxy City. Being an MMO I kinda expected more people
However if there are a few people playing I would be more than happy to jump in with you guys. Has anyone got any info about player pop? Or anything like that?
