Beginner Chat Question
That's one of the default keybinds, F9 I think. F1-5 uses inspiration slots (you can have up to 5 columns of 4), F6 says "RUN!" in Local, F7 says "Ready!", F8 says "HELP!", F10 says your battle cry. Near as I can tell looking at my keybind file, F11 and 12 are unbound by default.
Welcome to the game! I think you'll find that we're a friendly and helpful community.
EDIT: Oh, I wanted to add. "Not looking for team" is a flag that doesn't show up in your profile, but rather with the search function. You probably saw the other flags, such as "Looking for missions", "Looking for Task Forces", "Looking for anything".
"You don't lose levels. You don't have equipment to wear out, repair, or lose, or that anyone can steal from you. About the only thing lighter than debt they could do is have an NPC walk by, point and laugh before you can go to the hospital or base." -Memphis_Bill
We will honor the past, and fight to the last, it will be a good way to die...
Hmm, several of the Function keys (F1, F2, etc.) will do things like this. F7 is "Ready" and F9 is "Wait" and F10 is "Battle cry!" but I haven't seen the "LFT" one yet. Let me check it out.
What you should put in your team comment is "Trial Account, just invite" because Trial Accounts are greatly restricted in their ability to send messages to other players. You can't reply if someone asks if you want to join a team. But if you don't want to team with other folks, just your friend, then your current comment is fine.
Dark Gob is right on, it's F9. Just don't press that and you're good.
Yeah, just clicked F9.
Hi there, I'm Yamara34. I'm currently doing the trial of City of Heroes, which my cousin already plays. I'm a 3-year World of Warcraft player but I signed up just to see what it's like. He offered to show me the ropes but there was one thing that caused some miscommunication already in my starting zone - My character, multiple times, automatically wrote "Level 2 Corrupter Looking For Team" in Local Chat. My cousin showed me how to set my status to "Not looking for team," which I guess would show up in a profile or something if someone inspected it? But how can I prevent my toon from asking to join a group? Did I hit a button or something that did it?
I realize City of Heroes is a vast and complicated game, but I'd love to know this one thing for starters.
Thanks,
Yamara34
