  1. I found the problem...

McAfee... I've had that though since I got the PC over a year ago, so I'm wondering why it was starting up a problem now.

In any event, thanks for the help.
  2. I remember last night I was having terrible lag, and now I can't get in the game at all.
  3. Yeah, firewall is enabled.

And the version I'm using is:

    City of Heroes Updater v1800.201002171501.1
  4. So since early this morning, on my desktop, I can't login to the game. It keeps coming up with the message about checking firewall, internet connection or server status. I've tried just about everything. Servers are up, so I checked my internet. I reset it, and that's all fine and good. So then I checked the firewall stuff. I don't remember my firewall ever saying it blocked City of Heroes. So I put it on the allowed list, tried again, still didn't work. I then just took the firewall down entirely for a second just to see if that would work... and it didn't.

I have no idea what the issue is. My system runs on Windows 7 Ultimate, and it's just annoying this is happening. I tried to get on the game on my mom's laptop just to see if it was still possibly the connection, and the laptop ran it fine. So yeah... please help. I'll provide any other information that is needed if I can.

Out of curiosity, what'd you do to keep LR busy till enough towers were down?

I haven't had the time to get the nukes or shivans, but I'll still be there.

    Can't wait

I'm 100% sure I'll be there with my Broadsword/Willpower scrapper El Outcasto.
  8. Sorry to hear about your loss...

My previous Dog, Corey, died on August 4th 2006 after living for 13 years. He looked very similar to the OP's dog. I came to accept the fact he was gone a couple of months after he died. We were both born the same year, I've had him for all my life, from early childhood memories, he was such a great dog.

What I hated most about his death was he didn't even die from anything natural. He ate a plastic plate sometime in July that pierced through something.... don't remember what it was, but my parents paid for surgery to be done, and for the next two days, we went to see him as much as possible at the vet. His last day alive, I went to see him early in the morning, and looked good, seemed alert, and it looked like everything was going to be okay. Then, I went their later in the night, a few hours before he died, and he just couldn't move. He was alive, but he hardly moved at all, only his eyes were moving, and I had a bad feeling, and I wake up in the morning to find out he died.

You just have to remember just because he's physically gone, doesn't mean he's gone in your mind, in your memories. We picked up a new dog the day after Corey died, and it eased the pain, and maybe it could do the same for you.
