How much +dam do I need for Kat to have that BS crunch?

I was thinking about changing my build on my kat/wp scrapper. I have a lot of sets I could slot that give +dam on them. But I needed to know how much extra +dam would kat have to slot to be equal to an ED capped BS scrapper?

Burst? Its not possible. Broadsword has higher damage mod's then katana does, by a pretty large margin, so no matter how much +dmg you throw into katana, broadsword will always do more.

For example:

Disembowel does 122.62 damage base, soaring dragon does 112.61 damage base so thats 9% difference for BS base damage
Headsplitter does 162.66 damage base, Golden Dragonfly does 142.64 damage base so thats 13% difference for BS base damage

Damage over time? Katana already ranks higher, due to faster animating attacks, lower base recharge values and Gambler's cut being so awesome. Its mainly Gambler's cut though.

lets see

Head Splitter does 187 damage with 95% damage it would be 364

Disembowel does 134 damage with 95% damage it would be 262

So Golden Dragonfly would need to do around 364. It does 164.04 so it would take around 122% + damage, which would make it 365. Assuming you have 95% in your attack it would take about 27% +damage.

Soaring Dragon would need to do around 262. It does 123 so it would take 115% +damage. which would make it 264. Assuming you have 95% in your attack it would take 20% +damage.

I took the number out of mids so they might be off just a little. With these two attacks you need to have about 27% +damage to match BS.

If my numbers are wrong someone please tell me.

So the obvious solution is to go BS/SD then.

Yes, and just tell everyone it's a katana. If they argue with you, Headsplitter.

Although now it does have me wondering:

BS/SD vs. Katana/FA.

I wonder if the faster Katana attacks, applying FE, can out do BS with a sustained boost from AAO in ST DPS.

I'm sure DPS wise.. it could. Or atlest on a cheaper budget atlest match.

If you throw a ton of money into the BS/SD, it might surpass the katana/FA, but it'll cost a lot more.
