WS Build Looking For Critique

I have always been a fan of the Kheldians. I primarily play a tanker because Peacebringers were my favorite but they don't perform like I remember them relative to the other ATs. Warshades I also see a lack in throughout the teams I am in, but I have decided to try them again. I have come up with a quick build that gives me perma hasten, perma eclipse, perma dwarf mire, and almost perma human mire.

I was very surprised to see all the things I can do with a Warshade. I love not having to worry much about endurance because of Eclipse and Stygian Circle (Which also includes health!), the Essence Drain abilities to keep health up while still in combat, the easily capped resistance (The cap is also pretty high, love it) with Eclipse, and not having to worry about maxing out damage because of the super fast recharge of Dwarf Mire and almost perma human mire.

This is the first build I made for my warshade (Who is level 50 from before the need to do everything solo struck the tankers/scrappers/controllers/even defenders!) but I would like comments from you guys. Take a look, see where it can be better if its worth it, etc. This character is just for all around everything. Using Dark Nova to blast away minions/lts (Usually with Mire for quick kills), using Dwarf for the tougher battles that may require a bit more juice (Plus the super quick mires), and human to finish off any remaining mobs and to refuel/rebuff (Via Stygian Circle and/or Eclipse/Mire) before re-transformation. Super speed is to help ghost missions, Nebulous Form is to get out of a sticky situation. I also have no clue what alpha tree to use, I don't think endurance is a problem, recharge is already fantastic, pretty pumped with accuracy, and damage is pretty high with Mire. Ill have to look into the secondary buffs of the alphas, worst case I may take Musculature.

Also a special thanks to Dechs Kaison for his wonderful guide on tri-form warshades that really gave me perspective and ignited my interest in going back to my warshade.

Not too bad.

I reworked it by moving a couple slots around. I'm not sure how much you use Orbiting Death, but assuming that you swap forms regularly, you won't get enough use out of it to warrant the set of Obliteration. I moved that set to Dwarf Mire (since it does decent damage on its own) and added some extra enhancement to it on top of that.

I don't like seeing an Eclipse with only recharge, as it benefits from having some resistance and accuracy enhancement. If the way you have it works for you, that's more than enough. In my data chunk, you'll see I've frankenslotted it to max recharge and get good amounts of accuracy and resistance by only adding one more slot (also stolen from Orbiting Death).

I'd also suggest some resistance enhancement in Black Dwarf. What I did was steal a slot from Sunless Mire by frankenslotting Acc/Recharge IOs to get the same enhancement in three slots. You might be able to free up more from somewhere else like this.

The purple sets you use are the cheaper ones, but I'll just mention that "cheap" is a very relative term.

Lastly, regarding the Alpha slotting (and I'm just realizing now that this is something to add to the guide): The two I would suggest are the Endurance/Resistance or the Recharge one. The first one makes sure you never worry about endurance, while boosting the resistance of things like Dwarf and Eclipse, which aren't at the ED cap (even in my data chunk below). Going with the recharge alpha is only a good idea if you don't plan on exemplaring, but it would allow you to remove a lot of recharge enhancement from your build to free up slots to put elsewhere. For example, it'd be nice if you could put some damage into Unchain Essence.

Alright I looked at yours Dechs and made very minor tweaks. I took out a recharge or two in order to put a couple IO damages into Unchain Essence, boosting its damage dramatically. I don't think I will be using that power super often so I can easily take recharge off of it for the damage. I am not going to use the set IOs for Unchain Essence for that same reason I just stated, I will stick to it like that. With the minor tweaks I made I was hoping someone could answer, with the recharge Alpha Slot, would Hasten remain perma and would the human form Sunless Mire become perma?

I'll post a few tweaks I made in a bit, but the only questions I have that i didn't see addressed is why have 3 recharge IO's in Stygian circle? It has a recharge time of 7.94sec but if I replace 1 recharge with a end mod or heal and another with an end redux your recharge rate is only 9.34sec. I feel losing 1.4sec is worth getting more health and end back, especially is it will be after using an end-draining attack like quasar. And with stygian circle on a 9 second recharge, what benefit does essence drain give you besides the IO set and the slow? Not trying to critique your playstyle, just a question. I always feel that if someone likes a power, they should keep it. I personally think group fly is the dumbest power for anyone who isn't a MM to take, but I know a lot of people who have it....

I would switch the order of your stealth or grant invisibility with Super Speed. This will grant you early full invisibility as early as level 16. This would let you stealth on TF and even the caverns of transcendence trial.

The lotg will work at the level of of the enchancments regardless of when or if the power is available at whatever level your exemplared to (as long as your within 3 levels of the level of the global). It also saves you the cost of a needing a stealth IO. So you could move all of the lotg mules to the very end of your build if you want something earlier.

I would also switch Stygian Return and Eclipse around. It's minor but it would be a bit more exemplar friendly.

Also I would use a range in shadow recall for things like the shadow shard. It doesn't eat endurance that bad.

Franken slot some end mod/recharge IO's in Stygian Circle if you think you really need the recharge in it. With perma eclipse it gets used less and less since that boosts your recovery as well as resistance which lowers the amount of health you loose.

You could probably loose the slots on Dark Nova bolt also. At your levels of recharge you could do a Detonation>Blast>Emanation>Blast chain. Even on single targets with inherent stamina you should be Endurance sustainable to be able to do that chain.

Also, Do you use shadow blast? If you don't, think about switching it with Inky. It's a 1 slot wonder that stacks with Gravitic Emanation to stack stun on bosses.

I also tweaked Extracted essence slotting a little. The difference is literally a half a second difference on recharge but caps accuracy and raises damage up a bit. It was super cheap when I bought the Soul bound triple before going rogue, I'm not sure how much that is now.

Hey learned WS folks.

I took some ideas from the posts above here, and added some tweaks to make my own attempt. I put in leadership, mostly for Vengeance as a quick team friendly buff i can do while hopping forms. Overall, build has a lot of stuff you all have mentioned before, but I feel I need critiques.

So; Please Critique, thanks!

I don't have Mids with me at work, but two things jump out at me.

The first is Dark Extraction. The best slotting for that power I've found is four Expedient Reinforcment (the level 50 set), the damage/recharge purple, and the purple proc. You get your recharge bonus, and your pet has a chance to build up for every target he hits.

Black Dwarf Drain. This is a preference thing here, but Drain actually does more damage than Strike, so I slot it like an attack and leave the heal as a side effect.

I've written up a lot of advice in my MFing Warshade guide at the bottom about slotting. You seem to have the right ideas everywhere, but I figure it can't hurt to point you there.

Dechs, I have that guide bookmarked and I think near memorized Thanks again for the insane amounts of help it has given.

I kept out the purple pet IO's mostly because I wasn't sure if I could afford them. The stun one and the immob one are relatively cheap, compared. They were in there as i slotted the build and then realized i was casually purpling out my WS.

I thought of slotting up drain as an attack too, my reasoning for keeping it a big heal was that if i had to go dwarf and stay in dwarf for any length of time, something really hit the fan and I'd need the heal. In practice, I may swap that out. Not like I can't use inspirations. Or just rez back up.

I'm really glad to hear the guide helped, but you will want to double check that bookmark. I very recently (today) moved that guide to my blog, a place where I intend to keep all of my game related content (guides, videos, and fiction).

Last I checked, the pet set was still pretty cheap. This was before the market merge and Masterminds started buying them up, however, so anything could have happened.

I've seen some mighty creative slottings for that power. Some people use accurate healing sets and then throw two common damage in there, similar to Gravity Well. I use a mixture of Crushing Impact and Doctored Wounds.

It's amazing how many attributes can be slotted all the way to the ED cap in just six slots, especially when you stop trying for set bonuses.

The DM Guide in my sig has some good slotting for its DM clone Siphon Life:

Crushing Impact Acc/Dam/Rech, Dam/Rech
Numina's Heal/End, Heal/Rech, Heal/End/Rech
Damage IO

21.2% Accuracy
88.07% Damage
47.7% End
73.78% Heal
91.78% Rech
12% Regen
25.1 HP

Mako's: ACC/DMG/END/RCH
CI:ACC/DMG/RCH, ACC/DMG/END, DMG/END/RCH
2 Gen lvl 50 Heal IOs

60.95% ACC/RCH/END
80.94% DMG
83.82% HEAL
