does anyone use both auras from /fire?
A Fire/Earth Permadom solves your problem and lets you run both Auras.
-Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. - Albert Einstein.
-I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use. - Galileo Galilei

Well, spine/fire or spine/dark or spine/elec scrappers both have 2 damage auras and mez protection, but they aren't blasters
Pretty much, for a /fire blaster you going to either have to use BFs as preventative care (see that sapper/mez? pop a BF and smash his face) or get used to retoggling.
Running with both auras big drawback is the endurance drain. You will need a build that has gobs of +recovery. Re-toggling is an art form and not for everyone. Having mez protection is awesome, but very high defense is also decent.
You will want to spend almost all your time in melee, otherwise the auras are a waste of a pick. I'd recommend a primary with more targeted AoEs, as cones are more difficult to use in this playstyle. Elec, Fire, and Rad work best. Psi, Pistols, Archer, Rifle, and Energy work to a lesser extent. Sonic and Ice I would avoid.
I recommend picking up as much mitigation as possible as well. This will add even more end drain, which is why the build needs so much end help (teaming with Emp, Kin, or Cold buffs can mitigate a lot of this build's concerns).

Why Blasters? Empathy Sucks.
So, you want to be Mental?
What the hell? Let's buff defenders.

So far, I'm going for a rad/fire and pbaoe focus, but I'll still be skipping the first aura.

That build is based on my Pistols/Fire blaster, but I did not take Blazing Aura, instead I have Piercing Rounds. Blazing Aura is pretty bad on a blaster. I do have it on a few characters, but I recommend avoiding it.

I think I'll take the standard advice and just stick to hotfeet now.

Yeah, the whole less damage over a much smaller area makes me really wonder why they put it in the set - hence my quest for trying to find a build that would actually use it.

Now that I am 39 and have hot feet I may well pick it back up.
My char is built to do pbaoe damage, with all the AOE in the fire/fire trees. She has some troubles solo, on a team however she kicks out serious damage.
My rockin' Rad/Fire runs both auras at pretty much all times. I used to be polite sometimes in lacklustre teams or wacky situations like certain rooms on the LGTF and stuff and turn off Hot Feet because sometimes the fear could be more trouble than it's worth when people don't know how to deal with it. But, then I realised that the combo of Rad's def debuff and all the DoT flying everywhere makes mobs have the tendency to ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunawaaaaay anyway if they don't all die in the initial assault (99% of the time). And the added damage was way too sexy.
Then again he is S/L softcapped, perma-Hasten, with Cardiac Alpha (and runs about 8 toggles). If he ever has endurance dips still (i.e. End drain mobs), Consume fills the brief hole. For mobs with mezzes I know he isn't protected from, like any enemies with Dominate and such, pre-emptive breakfrees are still required.
If Blazing Aura had as big a radius as Hot Feet I would find a way to make it work. However Blazing Aura is just too puny for me to bother with.
Sure, on a tank or brute or whatever I don't mind the small radius damage auras. But on a blaster I don't want to spend my time parking that close, I'm more of an in-and-out jouster.
The Bacon Compels You.
I tried the HF + BA for a while on my Arch/Fire and eventually respecced out of it. The plan was also to use Burn when it still had the fear component, so mobs would be too busy running around to attack me, meanwhile I could use FSC & Combustion for some serious PBAoE madness. The problem was that I just ended up getting so much aggro that even w/a decent def (not capped, but in the 30s), I'd get pasted quite a bit. Plus, every time I got mezzed, turning on the auras became too annoying, and the end costs were pretty annoying too. After Burn lost the fear component, I just said hell with it and dropped both auras and have been happier for it.

It is like they increased the end cost because they were going to make it as big as Lightning Field (the blaster version is a 20' radius), but then they never did.

Just a little update/necro to say that I made this build work. Oh yes.
When I heard about the T3 clarion Destiny & perma status protection I knew it would be worth it ... anyway, here's the build:

It's not the most uber of uber builds, but it IS a lot of fun. I was soloing between 0/4/noboss and 1/6/noboss rikti & council before the clarion. I'll probably bump up to 2/6/bosses tonight and see how that goes.
YES, you can make a more uber blaster that can solo 4/8/bosses. But this one is fun.
Also: I don't have hasten because I wanted Clarion on Auto. You could drop combust, move the slots to burn and throw hasten in if you really wanted hasten in this build.

Excellent. My Fire/Fire/Flame blaster has been enjoying Clarion as well. Not having to re-toggle the auras back on and always being able to respond to enemies is very, very nice.

I skipped Blazing Aura because things that close to me are going to get smacked down by Burn and Fire Sword Circle anyway. It's the stuff that's in the 10-15 foot range that Hot Feet really helps with, since half my AoEs don't go out that far. The second aura would add damage on AVs but I don't really want to burn endurance that fast on AVs since there likely won't be extra mobs to refuel on with Consume.
Cascade, level 50 Blaster (NRG/NRG since before it was cool)
Mechmeister, level 50 Bots / Traps MM
FAR too many non-50 alts to name

The Instant Lair Delivery Service: 206636
I really want to find a build I can happily make good use of both auras on (which pretty much any primary), but I'm not having much luck. With some leftover characters on the test server I've tried a few variations, but re-toggling both after every stun gets really annoying.
I suppose, for a duo with someone with a mez prot buff?
