Willpower / Mace

With the introduction of inherent fitness as well as the Alpha slot, I have an impetus to respec and slot this tanker build. I plan on slotting the Nerve Radial in the Alpha slot.

Any advice or suggestions are welcome.

Why Blasters? Empathy Sucks.
So, you want to be Mental?
What the hell? Let's buff defenders.
Tactics are for those who do not have a big enough hammer. Wisdom is knowing how big your hammer is.

On the whole, a not a bad build, though I would certainly not recommend putting off Jawbreaker until 18 and Clobber until level 30, even in a respec. You are going to want them--especially Clobber, the most damaging attack in the set--if you ever exemp. Maneuvers can definitely be delayed until later (much later, IMO) in order to take Clobber when it becomes available.

I also think that Build Up would be a better pick than Tactics, since it has +damage as well as +tohit. But whether you change to BU or stick with Tactics, IMO the Gaussian's set is a poor use of slots. The bonus for 6 slots is relatively small, and you need S/L defense more than E/NE or F/C. So I'd recommend switching to two Rectified Reticle plus a slot or two for recharge. (If you get build up--for Tactics you'll want end reduction since it's a high cost toggle.) The +percep IO is available if you want more +percep than is available in Heightened Senses.

That would free up some slots--Crowd Control in particular needs one, though a fifth slot in Bash would be good too.

Here's what I would do with your build, I also added a couple of slots to Taunt to get the 5th and 6th slot bonuses from MB.

Great point. While I will take Maneuvers earlier than your build, I started from a build that skipped Clobber altogether because I currently do not have it. I originally leveled and played this character pre-Clobber-buff and had no compelling reason to bother respeccing until now. I just plopped it into the the first open spot from dropping fitness, but moving it so it comes earlier in the build will help on Posi runs.

Very interesting. I never even looked at Rectified Reticle. Not sure if I'd ever need more perception, but I like the way that set has such a great bonus early. Definitely will work that concept into the build. Tactics is certainly a better option for me, although I did almost take Build Up instead of Clobber or Combat Jumping. I will not likely need the burst type damage in my normal play, however.

I originally had both of those 5 slotted (same way you did) and poached the extra slots for the 6 slotting of Tactics. By changing some things around I was able to recover one of the slots. With the Nerve alpha slotted, Crowd Control is still capped vs. +4s even with just the 4 slots, so I put the 5th slot back in Bash (which I should likely spam in an AV fight for bruising). I wanted to keep the 3% HPs your build lost, which is why the changes were made as follows:

Your call. Though if I felt I had to short-slot an attack, it would certainly not be Crowd Control, which IMO is tied with Clobber for the best attack in the set.

Here's what I'm working on for mine.
Though the Tactics thing might be a better choice for a constant accuracy and I'd probably go with that.

Looks like you're ignoring Rise to the Challenge's -acc. Doesn't that could as sort of a general +def?
And indomitable will probably only needs 2 luck of the gamblers. Unless you realy need that bonus to accuracy. You can move 1 to combat jumping for the 10% Regen and equip one of your attacks with 2 pounding slug fests for 8% Regen.
And I've never found much use for taunt if I need to pull I'll use any ranged power be it a; ancillary power, vet power, Even a temp(rock throw :P ). And by the time I notice one of me teem mates needs help it's probably to late.

TY for the perspective.

The To hit debuff in RttC is very small, slotting for it is wasteful, IMO.

The third LotG in IdomWill gives me a HP bonus which is much more improtant to me than more +regen. I do indeed need the +tohit of the Kismet as well. It allowed me to short slot accuracy and still be capped to hit +4s as an incarnate, but also allows me to EX and still hit well (normally when Exing I face even cons to +2s).

I like Taunt. I tend to notice my teammates are about to get in trouble and Taunt is one of many tools that can help me prevent it. I also fight AVs a fair bit.

StratoNexus, just working off of your lastest build and tweaking a few things...

How about 3-slotting Aegis in HPT for a bit more F/C def?

The 3 Gaussian's in Tactics for a few more HPs... worth it? I'd move 2 of them into Taunt (leave the To Hit/End, tho you can use a cheaper Adj Targeting) to 6-slot Mocking Beratement for more F/C def & the 7.5% rech bonus. You end up w/a 43.4 F/C def right now, before Nerve, which caps it.

I would also remove the slots from Stone Prison, just leaving in an Acc IO for when you want an Immob or -Fly, and use the 2 slots for CC (Oblit A/D/R) and... something else. Or, just 6-slot either Shatter or Whirling Mace w/Oblit, since you're far over the softcap for E/N anyway. W/that, you end up w/47.2% S/L/E/N (higher w/Nerve, obv) and better recharge & damage numbers, though you sacrifice a bit of HPs.

I know you want to go for high HPs, and you should, but I think the higher F/C def (near cap, capped w/Nerve) and higher recharge will serve you better. In fact, I wouldn't even go Nerve, but Spiritual for the higher regen #s, since you're already softcapped or nearly so to almost all types. Spiritual Core boosts your regen from 79.75/s to 90.39/s, even w/the lowered HP w/my tweaks, not to mention CC, Clobber & WM will all recharge faster.

My WP/Mace is only mid-level, and I rarely play tanks.
All your builds have a huge emphasis on Accuracy/toHit/Perception. Is that a Mace thing or a Tanker thing?

Not sure what you're basing that on. I haven't looked over the builds in this thread in a while, (it IS several months old, after all) but the one I posted doesn't strike me as having an unusual emphasis on accuracy or perception. I put a Kismet +Acc in pretty much all my builds, and a Rectified Reticle if there's no +perception available in the primary.

As a weapon set, WM actually has slightly higher base accuracy than most other tanker secondaries, so I don't think it's a War Mace thing.
