Rep valid kills or kills period?
All the kills are rep valid. I figure why not double dip if possible. Going to keep a tally up to 1000 kills total to see how many i get.
I opend the arc on an old toon i do not play much so i can keep accurate count on total shards and set a special chat-tab to just rewards to count easier.
It is also fighting from 0 rep and only getting one per kill so i can make sure im not eastimating.
stopped now at 75 cause i want to play will start again in the morn.
Did another 25 so far this morn. Only time for another 25 or so.
got another shard drop thats a total
of
100 kills
and its about 25:1 so far. plus the free one when you do the arc so its 5 total.
p.s. no pvp io drops.(expected)
as i typed this i got another so its 101 kills and 5 shards which makes it 1:20 so a large test pool is need thats why im gonna 1000 kills.
Hit 125 and got a pvp at the timethe pvp io droped on th same kill i got a shard not sure if there tied together but that makes 6 shards from pvp and one pvp io drop.
I just left to go to my mountain house so i will post results later once i get going on my laptop.

You must have a horseshoe up your butt, because my numbers are totally different from yours.
I've been set up for 2 days now 24 hours straight, here is my findings:
1 Killer / 3 Rezbots
1440 defeats, gaining rep for each defeat.
Shards gained: 8
That works out to about 1 shard per 180 defeats.
*Also*
I will have to look over my logs, but I don't think you gain shards from a non reputation defeat, meaning you get 1 chance every 5 minutes for a shard, just like you do for a PvP recipe.

Wow- all my kills are for rep
11 shards so far and if got at 225. And had to stop for weekend cause wifes comp couldnt handle it.
Its one rezzer and one kill.

clearly my numbes are totally different form yours. But thats what i got. I have no power slotted in the alpha atm. and im on a dead server in a off place. I wonder why our numbers are so off almost by a factor of 10. Ill have my wife check for a horseshoe when she wakes up.
Probably because a chance for is a random roll. To get any kind of accurate average you'd have to run your thousand kill run a thousand times to find any kind of reliable average. Even then there's no guarantee someone's personal run will be anywhere near.
Better to save yourself some time and say, "Kill some stuff in PvP zones and you'll eventually get some shards." Personally I'd rather just run through some speed TF's and get more than 10 in an hour, but that's just me.

Yeah, I agree I don't think its worth it. Better off just running TFs as you mentioned. At least you have a better chance.

So far the first batch is done only 50 kills but 2 shards. Ill post the evening results when i have them.
But if that is a normal number 1:25 is not bad drop rate
