APEX Task Force Guide
Great guide and reading it helped my team succeed. I had a failed run the previous day and didn't want a repeat so I formed the team up specifically to have the bulk of players able to do their damage from a distance. One tank and one scrapper was all I could allow. Definitely get a couple of debuffers and I think a taunting tank is a must. Getting her taunted out of the Blue Death helped us a lot.
I'd advise that squishy types stock up on purples from the combat medic. It won't help you against the Blue Death but it will help you safely ignore the animated swords and Champions that spawn when she returns. The repeated debuffer deaths from the minions and the occasional mis-step into the Blue Death allowed her hp to start to climb up before we got wise. Wasting time trying to kill them is pointless...we had the swords respawning even after mission was over. Ignoring them seems the best tactic.
For melee types, it is also tempting sometimes to try to get in a few extra licks before the Blue Death zaps you. This is a mistake. When you see it forming, move as soon as your animation is over and wait patiently. Sometimes she follows and you can attack immediately or sometimes you have to wait it out. It might seem to take forever but it certainly takes less time than a run from the hospital. All the time you're doing that, you're not damaging her either. Be patient.
Again, great guide! Thanks for the help!

Failed a run this evening, even though someone referred to (and quoted portions of) this fine guide. We just had too much melee and not enough ranged, and couldn't bring enough DPS to bear on Battle Maiden. (Some more debuffing of her sick regen would have been nice too.)

I think the only sound strategy is good counter regen and high DPS. Good methods to countering her regen during range fighting (via use of vet powers for non-range DPS users) of course are the envenomed daggers and then a duo, if possible, of caltrops and rain of fire. Gets her out of the blue field and into the open so you can lay into her. Until she gets out, you just peg her with range attacks while PBAoEs make her panic. Good times.
Sometimes it doesn't work out perfectly but in the end, sooner or later you'll get it.
I have had partial success with the Team TP approach.
I ran this on Sunday on my Fire/Dark cor with coalition folks; It was the first run of it for six of the eight of us, myself included. We had a tank, a blaster, and a mix of defs, cors, and controllers.
For the first portion of the BM fight, I successfully Team TP'd the ranged people around the map. I was pretty aggressive with the Team TP and moved us every few attacks. With TPs this frequent, it seemed to me that not that many patches got spawned. I will need more experiments with this to actually report that as fact, but maybe with us shifting positions so often the patches couldn't spawn?
Sadly, we hadn't read any guides on the thing and once BM ran off we lost some focus and had much more trouble. Once most people got the hang of the death patches, we did end up getting organized enough to finish it in 1:14 with 96 deaths. Once BM returned, I used Team TP to jump myself and random nearby teammates out of the patches several times, but it wasn't nearly as organized as with the first portion of the fight.
I have another coalition run planned for this coming weekend, and I plan on attempting to use the TP approach for the whole fight. I'll report back here how it goes.
3. Dont queue up attacks like usual. Fire
check for warning aura
fire
MOVE
fire rinse repeat. You can get caught in a long animation and killed so it is easier to not string long chains of attacks, Again this is not a CoH button fest AV. You can also joust her with attacks.

BTW, I think the timer for BM only runs when she's in the field of play. We all got Master of... for all badges in our one run (helps that we were all playing our signature "main" toons, pretty much) and I can't say for sure, but I think the BM fight took longer than 15min in total, but less than 15 while she was actually fighting. Mostly, because we didn't know we had to clear all the champions to respawn her after her initial retreat.
Oh, and I found Tin Mage way harder than Apex, so if anyone wants to write up a guide for that, esp the Malta AV fight w/all the mines, it'd be appreciated. My only input would be to taunt the AV to the door, or to fight from the shelves (fliers get grounded by the web 'nades).

Nice guide! Two things:
What do you mean by "filling" Battle Maiden?
Second, the 15 minute limit ONLY counts while BM is on the map. So you can take as long as you need clearing out ambushes, IIRC. However, that still only gives you 7 and a half minutes each time she's out. It should also be noted that she doe not regen while she's gone, so that helps immensely.

Oh, and Crimson demands you play this arc-> Twisted Knives (MA Arc #397769)

I ran my Team TP test last night, and results were mostly good. The trick is to keep participation in the team TPing close to 100%, so there is less area covered by BPoD. Once a few folks started dodging on their own, it got much harder to find landing zones. We were all corruptors and defenders (it was a theme thing) and having everyone ranged made that a lot easier.
Some things to keep in mind when attempting this approach:
- The BPoD are slightly larger than they look.
- After Team Teleporting a large group, they spread (like after an Assemble the Team.) This means that you need more room than you think for a landing zone.
- If you get an invalid target red reticle, you are in way more trouble than usual.
The first and second points lead to me getting a few folks ganked when I would TP too close to the warning patch and then we'd spread after landing. This is part of why I think having close to 100% participation is necessary for the Team TP approach to really work. Point three lead me to getting 7/8 of the team killed once -- Sorry guys.
Any updates to this since we last saw it? Figured it's worth the rez, seeing as how it is relevant to this week's WST.
We did this the other night on Guardian with a very well built team and sailed through this sucker.
We had 2 buffers. Sonic and cold. And 2 tanks.
I was one of the tanks. Me and the other hopped around a lot to stay out of BMs death aoe flash thing. Kept her busy and it worked well. That is key just not getting wipped from that mega weapon.
With the 2 buffers the first mission was a synch.
We had a blast.
Thanks again for the guide! Now I just need to find a Tin Mage!
