I've tried getting the badge two times with no luck. I, too, was on a team of 8 and we certainly killed the required Spectrals to spawn probably three Caleb's.
I'm not sure what the problem is, but I filed a bug report a while ago.
And then the joy of actually FINDING him if he spawns.

He is hard to spot and tends to Fly up really high in the Zone. The one time we found him we noticed his eyes glowing in the distance and he has flown real high in the zone.

ive spawned him the usual way or one occasion i found him just randomly sitting in a spot on thorn isle
Ok, I've been trying for three days to get this bloody badge: HellBane.
I've even had a team of 8, 2 days ago, destroying nerva demons for a few hrs during the daytime, he spawned one time, but never spawned again.
I tried last night, as well with 3 other people with the same result (no spawn).
Is there some trick to this that I am missing? I know he spawns waaaay up high, comes out at dusk after 100 of his demons are killed during daylight hours. Anything else?
Also, I'll attempt it again today, if anyone wants to join. once the servers come up
