Team Pimp Hand Discussion Thread

Since we don't have a global channel for team discussion, and we don't want to be crowding up the other pvp threads with our conversations, I figured we should have a person thread available.

First off, if anyone hasn't yet, please add everyone on the team to your friends list for better communication.

Justaris (ill/emp)
Gristlebone (grav/Ta)
Elegost (rad/psy)
Wac (Psi/em)
Callie’s Rage (psi/EM)
Vanum (Psi/EM)
Flux (Mind/Fire)
War-Nugget (Sonic/Pain)
NT-Flamer (Earth/Nrg)
Philly Girl (ringer emp)
wac (psi/nrg)?
~~~
Secondly, will anyone not be available for practices this weekend? If not, a spontaneous practice on Saturday (time still undecided, this needs to get fixed) and/or Sunday would be wonderful if have enough people to participate.
All these Team threads are causing me a concern. Mental Giant is going to get jealous soon and start a Team Jacob thread...
:O OH NIUU! NOT JACOB! ANYTHING BUT HIM!!!
Team Dracula ftw!
Like I said on Sunday , I should be available if I'm on, but I do do a family dinner then.. but I end up on CoH later on, before the Rikti Raid still sounds pretty good!
Spontaneous practices would be good too! And, I'll try and get a microphone soon... I will.
New Intel:
It would be a good idea to, while you're working on your accolades and such, to also consider running the reinforcement morality mission. If everyone has Call to Justice, that's a super buff at the beginning of a match.
Doms: Get frenzy -> instant Domination = hell yes.
Corrs (Nug)... *shrug. get whichever you want
I was thinking I might take my Emp redside to get Demonic - would it be more of an advantage to get Call of Justice instead? It'll take seven days after reaffriming Hero to get it, so I figured I'd ask now...
No rush to get it. Just add it to the list of things to do in the next week or three :]
Definately interested in Invader on Saturday. What time?
d0000m. you would do that when I'm not here to mooch :O
Practice is still a-go for Sunday, you guys need to work on an official Saturday time, however. I've got a couple things on the list to work on Sunday. Saturday's practice I hope you can just do a bit more of what we've already gone over, honing skills and all that, but I'll leave that up to you guys. Not like I have much say in the matter, anyway
If you are 'just' going redside to get demonic I wouldn't do it. I have the a carnie map that works well and we can always put together a Ozone flashback team to get Masks from unai. Those are realy the only 2 difficult badges blueside.
Really looking at the powers, the only AT who is going to benefit greatly from these alignment accolade powers are the Doms.
I could see the Emps going with Frenzy over Call to Justice because honestly to hit and +damage won't do them much good.
Yeah, it was pretty much to avoid having to grind Illusionists (that, and Demonic is ridiculously easy to get). I see your point about Frenzy vs Call to Justice, but what about the benefit to other team members? Or is that not something I should be worrying about?
I was very much for the team buff aspect of call to justice, but after really looking at the time of the buff 30 secs, with a recharge of 6 mins... I'm not so sure I'm sold on it.
I can see everyone getting off a great 1st buff but that only lasts the 1st 30 secs of the match (usually the time it takes to find the other team and lock) so a smart team would say.. "they are going to call to justice, lets sit here and wait 15 secs, then fire off ours" Which just leads to more waiting and less pvp.
In addition, I doubt that you will be able to get a team to 'gather and everyone fire your C2J, ready go'. So after the 1st buff cycle it pretty much becomes a self buff.
Frenzy on the other hand gives a nice little +damage/+recharge to the caster. So I could see this being more effective.
We will have to see how this plays out I guess.
Not to beat this into the ground, but with a recharge time of six minutes, how useful is it as a self-buff? How long will our official matches be?
I have the mask farm map on one of my 50s... I'll have to figure out which one has it, may be my dark/ice. Whoever has it also happens to have the ghost farm from Croatoa (for Geas).
10 minutes = twice a match.
My thoughts on team vs self buff are as follows:
When you are zooming all over the map its not very reasonable to expect everyone to gather for a team buff, I know teams have tried this tactic for things like World of Pain and such, but typically you end up with only 2-4 people there and then standing still you are at risk of being spiked.
Self buffs, you can drop anytime you have the chance. So it may seem more reasonable to pick up the self.
Status update on finished builds/accolades? I've been busy with a metric crapton of real life issues, as well as other ingame things (i19, duh). So PvP has been pushed to the back of the list. I doubt I'll have mine done by Sunday, but I might be able to make at least *some* progress on it for that match.
How are you all doing so far?
Eh. Don't sweat it. I don't believe there is blood or money riding on what happens here. Or even blood money for that matter.
My progress:
TFC- completed
Atlas Medallion- Need vampires- was hoping for a Moonfire to crop up but I was occupied with other things when one did.
FPR- need fakes
Portal Jockey- Need Siege (grr, the new arc is much more streamlined but include all the f**king AV's...) and Anti-Matter.
Call to Justice is on cool down and will be available by Sunday.
I have unlocked the Alpha slot but other than the pity common shard that drops at the end of the arc, I have made no progress towards a alpha enhancer.
Lets not even go into the clicky accolades as other than the explores and history plaques, I have no idea.
Bah- Forgot about the build..I have to respec it into the i19 version. But that's not an issue as I have all the enhancements except one and it's not very expensive.
Anyone know if there is a new version of mids for i19 out yet?
Better to reign in hell than serve in heaven.
Build's done (save for 5 LotG recharges) and as far as accolades go I need TFC and one other but I can't remember what it is off the top of my head.
My build has beend one for a while as well (except for two recharges), and I only need TFC/Invader to have all the passive Accolades. Working on trying to get atleast a Common Alpha slot, but may not get it till saturday maybe even sunday.
Need to run Synapse for the gears for FP, then I think Posi and Citadel for TFC. As well as Dimensional Warder for PoJo :[ I haven't been working on accolades too much, a thousand other things to do.
Not worried about the slot for now, since we shouldn't be slotting anything in it yet, anyway. I do, however, need to go redside for shraks - a task I won't get done by Sunday. Psy mastery will have to do for now. bleh I just want this semester to be over.
Sunday practice agenda: (Also applicable to Saturday)
Run at least three matches to familiarize ourselves with the maps for the match, Atlas, Skyway, and Graveyard.
If we have enough people to allow it, I'll manipulate the team setups to have different styles of teaming to let everyone get a feel for how the rolls compliment each other in various settings.
As always, practicing getting two to three 1-2 second locks on a target. The quicker and cleaner the spike, the better. Also, knowing *when* to spike.
Switching Targets rapidly, either from a hybern00b, to a sandboxed target, or to a healer who recently AB'd. Being able to flop on the fly will make a nice difference. It's also hard for some on the other team to follow.
And lastly, the usual, practicing evading. If they're locked on you, and you see them training on you, get that evade going. Let us know in vent (in third person, so we get a name, not just a voice). So we can help you. You aren't automatically dead if you're being targeted. Maneuvering over your opponent works very well (especially in graveyard).
~~
It looks like I'm the only one that's not done building yet, I'll have to grab some SOs or something to fill in the holes until I get the rest of those freakin IOs. I'll try to have at least one more accolade by Sunday <.< Not sure if it'll happen, though.
Anywho, see you guys Sunday at least, Saturday as well would be preferable, whether I'm present or not.
PvP R SRS BSNS!
I got my build done, pre-i19 one however don't feel like having to sell the IOs that I'm not using or even wanting to respec Tympanal. Well, missing one LotG.
No accolades, been busy with other things (school work, mass-TFs on my 'main').
